After finishing the meal.
Father Su had someone brew tea. He said to Lu Zhe, “This time you saved Zhiyuan. Our Su family owes you another favor. Is there anything you need our help with? Or how would you like us to thank you?”
Lu Zhe sat on the single sofa chair, his back straight. His expression was faint. “Uncle Su, I don’t need any thanks. If the person in danger back then wasn’t Brother Su but someone else, I would’ve helped them too.”
During the fire, Lu Zhe had rushed in without hesitation to save Father Su and Mother Su. This time at the construction site, he also went in to save Su Zhiyuan.
Others might still weigh the risk to their own lives, but Lu Zhe knew his lifespan wouldn’t be long.
Father Su waved his hand. “No, your kindness to the Su family isn’t something that can be summed up in one or two incidents.”
Lu Zhe had practically saved the entire Su family.
Father Su said, “You were injured this time as well. If your father finds out, he won’t be happy. I’ve thought about it. I plan to transfer ten percent of Su Corporation’s shares to you. What do you think?”
What Su Corporation represented—no one wouldn’t know. Don’t even mention ten percent; even one percent was worth several billions.
More importantly, transferring this ten percent to Lu Zhe also meant Father Su valued him on the same level as the Su family.
At the side, Su Zhiyuan was stunned, but considering both his own life and his parents’ lives were saved by Lu Zhe, he felt his father’s decision wasn’t a problem.
Mother Su hadn’t expected her husband to make such a decision, but the grace of saving lives outweighed mountains, and money was merely an external possession. Lu Zhe had saved members of the Su family multiple times—ten percent of the shares truly should go to him.
Besides, deep inside, she hoped Lu Zhe would accept the shares.
After all, to her, compared to shares, her daughter was more important. Lu Zhe was a smart child; he should know what to choose.
The living room quieted, with only the soft sound of servants pouring tea. The two little ones had long been taken upstairs for a bath, and Ji Chi had returned to his room to rest.
Su Ci sat beside Mother Su, but her gaze was fixed on Lu Zhe. She looked at him expectantly, hoping he would accept the shares.
Su Ci felt no guilt about her extremely biased heart. She believed this was what Lu Zhe deserved. Whether during the fire or at the construction site, Lu Zhe had risked his life to save others.
Her heart ached for him.
Money wasn’t as important as Lu Zhe.
The bright lights shone on the top of the boy’s hair. Lu Zhe wore a black T-shirt, making his already handsome features even sharper. Seeing Su Ci wink at him, he curved his lips slightly. “Uncle Su, I can’t accept the shares.”
“You don’t want the shares?” Father Su’s sharp gaze swept over Lu Zhe.
Even Su Zhiyuan was shocked.
Lu Zhe nodded seriously. “Mm.”
He had already stolen the Su family’s little princess. That alone repaid all the life-saving grace.
Mother Su instinctively looked at her daughter beside her, only to see her daughter staring with wide black eyes at the boy across from them, not blinking even once.
She sighed again.
Father Su had originally planned to gift some shares to Lu Zhe as thanks, but now that he refused, there was nothing he could do.
This young man Lu Zhe was nothing like Lu Chen, that fox who only cared about profit.
Father Su looked at Lu Zhe with appreciation. “Since you don’t want Su Corporation’s shares, then the Su family will continue owing you this favor. In the future, if you ever need help from the Su family, just speak up.”
Only then did Lu Zhe agree.
They chatted for quite a while longer. Su Zhiyuan wanted to discuss the construction project with Father Su, so the two of them went to the study.
Just then, a servant came looking for Mother Su, saying that little Su Ning wanted her.
Su Ci felt her younger brother was really doing great.
Mother Su glanced at her daughter, then at Lu Zhe. She frowned slightly and stepped away for the moment.
In an instant, only Su Ci and Lu Zhe were left in the living room.
The girl quickly stood up and walked over to Lu Zhe. She took the initiative to hold his hand. “I’ll go change your bandage.”
Yesterday it was Su Ci who helped change his medicine, and afterward she casually stuffed Lu Zhe’s medication into her suitcase.
Her suitcase had already been brought back to her room by a servant.
“Come on.” Su Ci tugged the boy along.
Lu Zhe could only cooperate as he stood up and followed her upstairs.
In the hallway, Su Ci walked close beside him. “Why didn’t you want my family’s shares?”
“I’m already holding onto the Su family’s most important treasure.” Lu Zhe squeezed the soft little hand nestled in his palm. “If I took your family’s shares as well, your parents would be angry.”
Su Ci stared at Lu Zhe in surprise. It was rare to hear him say something that sounded like praise.
Her dark eyes lit up, and joy touched her delicate brows.
Smiling, she leaned against him and pressed, “I’m the Su family’s important treasure, so am I also your dear darling sweetheart?”
Lu Zhe lowered his gaze to look at her. “Mm.”
Satisfied with the answer, Su Ci’s eyes curved instantly.
She lifted her chin and pressed her pretty red lips to his cheek. “A reward for you.”
Lu Zhe raised his eyes, the dark pupils landing on Ji Chi, who had just stepped out of a room not far away and was looking in their direction.
Instinctively, Lu Zhe’s large hand rested on the girl’s waist.
Ji Chi closed his door. Holding a cup, he walked over. When passing Su Ci and Lu Zhe, he nodded at them. With no expression on his face, he exited the hallway and went downstairs.
A servant saw Ji Chi holding an empty cup and quickly stepped forward. “Young Master Ji Chi, do you want some water? I can help you.”
Ji Chi refused. “Thank you, no. I’ll do it myself.”
During his time staying at the Su house, even though the servants treated him with great respect, Ji Chi did everything himself and rarely asked the Su family’s staff to do anything.
He knew clearly what his position was.
He was only staying at the Su house temporarily. Nothing here had anything to do with him.
Ji Chi walked into the kitchen and poured himself a glass of water.
Unconsciously, the scene of the girl standing on tiptoe and kissing that boy named Lu Zhe surfaced in his mind.
Water overflowed from the cup.
Ji Chi’s lowered eyelids trembled slightly. He put down the kettle, took a cloth, and skillfully wiped the wet countertop dry.
In the hallway, Su Ci hadn’t expected someone to witness her kissing Lu Zhe, but thankfully it was only Ji Chi and not her parents.
Lu Zhe asked, “His room is next to yours?”
Su Ci blinked, quickly realizing “he” meant Ji Chi. “Not next door, there are several rooms between us.”
Lu Zhe’s hand around her waist didn’t loosen. Instead, he held her even tighter. “I remember you said he’s the son of your mother’s friend, staying here temporarily.”
Su Ci nodded. “Yeah, he’ll move to the school dorms once classes start. Right now he works two part-time jobs every day, leaves early and comes back late, so he’s barely home.”
Lu Zhe’s lips pressed slightly. “Mm.”
“What is it?” Su Ci was curious why Lu Zhe would suddenly ask about Ji Chi. With his personality, he rarely showed interest in anything or anyone.
Meeting the girl’s clear, bright eyes, Lu Zhe let out a small laugh. “I’m a little jealous.”
Su Ci stared at him, puzzled.
Lu Zhe lowered his cool lips and kissed her beautiful eyes. “I want to live under the same roof as you too.”
The girl’s eyes lit up instantly. She buried her face into Lu Zhe’s chest, trembling with laughter. “Are you jealous?”
She thought this poor baby saying such sour words was too adorable!

Previously, because Su Ci had gone to City C, Lu Zhe abandoned many things to chase after her. Over this period, he had become busy again.
Su Ci was considerate and didn’t disturb him. She only asked about his injury during their video calls at night.
The food program hadn’t finished filming yet. Su Ci wasn’t someone who quit halfway. When she arrived at the guests’ lounge, the other three guests were already present.
Ever since Su Ci gave the investigation materials to Xie Yumin last time, she hadn’t paid attention to how Xie Yumin handled the matter afterward.
But seeing Xie Yumin and Guan Jing sitting far apart now, it was obvious the two had fallen out.
A friend stabbing you in the back, who could tolerate that?
As long as Xie Yumin wasn’t too emotional and kept a clear mind, she would know exactly how to handle her relationship with Guan Jing.
Seeing Su Ci arrive, the cold expression on Xie Yumin’s face finally melted into a smile. “You’re here?”
“Your eyes tell me you’re surprised?” Su Ci sat down beside her.
Xie Yumin spoke frankly. “I thought you wouldn’t come to film anymore.”
Now that Su Ci’s identity had been exposed online, everyone knew she was the Su family’s daughter. Netizens were discussing her wildly, with every kind of comment.
Today, Su Ci wore a tangerine-colored dress that made her complexion look like snow. She lifted her chin slightly and smiled. “Comments online can’t hurt me.”
She wasn’t about to quit recording just because some antis said ugly things.
Xie Yumin nodded. The Su family’s young lady had enough capital to be proud and willful.
Over there, Guan Jing noticed Su Ci’s arrival. She hesitated, wondering whether to go greet her. But seeing Xie Yumin chatting and laughing with Su Ci, she was so furious she nearly snapped her nails.
Xie Yumin somehow found out about her little schemes behind the scenes. After they argued that day, she moved out of the company-rented apartment.
Now the two of them were basically enemies. Watching Xie Yumin cling to the Su family’s eldest daughter, how could Guan Jing possibly accept that?
After hesitating for a moment, Guan Jing finally got up and walked toward Su Ci. Her tone carried a hint of flattery. “Miss Su Ci, I heard Qin Shiyan is also one of today’s recording guests.”
Everyone in the industry already knew that Qin Shiyan had tried to cling to the Su family’s fame, and that the Su family’s true daughter did not like her.
Su Ci looked toward her.
Guan Jing seemed encouraged and became even more forward. “Qin Shiyan’s behavior is just too disgusting. Those last two hot searches—she deliberately stepped on you. I really couldn’t stand it. Miss Su Ci, if you want, I can help you vent your anger later.”
It was the first time Xie Yumin realized that her former friend’s true face was this ugly. She turned her head away, unwilling to look at Guan Jing again. Every glance only made her feel she had been blind.
Su Ci was speechless. Qin Shiyan’s character was bad, but Guan Jing wasn’t much better. “My matters haven’t gotten to the point where you need to meddle.”
Her voice was cold, giving Guan Jing no face at all.
Guan Jing didn’t expect Su Ci to be so direct. Embarrassed after asking for trouble, the smile on her face froze. She resented Su Ci’s arrogance in her heart, but could only awkwardly sit back down.
The staff announced that filming was about to start.
Su Ci entered the recording studio and found that Qin Shiyan had already arrived. She sat quietly in her guest seat. Seeing Su Ci and the other guests enter, she even greeted them politely.
