The sudden appearance of the Lu family made Su Ci’s drowsy eyes light up when she saw the tall youth walking slightly behind Father Lu and Mother Lu.
Su Ci winked at Lu Zhe.
“We’re going on vacation. What, you’re going out of town too?” Father Su, with his wife at his side, was in a cheerful mood.
Lu Chen narrowed his eyes. When he smiled, he looked like a sly fox in full bloom. “I heard your family’s holiday resort has been completed and opened for business. To support your place, I was just about to bring my wife and child over to show you some love. How about it, touched?”
Father Su was stunned. “You’re going to the resort too?”
Lu Chen raised his brows and smiled. “Why, can’t I go?”
Father Su didn’t think too much about it. “It’s rare that you’re willing to send money to my doorstep. I’ve no reason to push the money away and not earn it. It’s just that our family is also going there for vacation.”
Lu Chen snapped his fingers. “Oh, then that’s great. The more people, the livelier.”
Beside them, when Mother Su heard that the Lu family was also going to the resort, she felt the coincidence was too great.
Her gaze subconsciously drifted toward the cold-faced Lu Zhe standing there. She trusted the character of this young man, but this was a bit too coincidental.
Wen Ya took the initiative to step forward and chat with Mother Su. “Those two, every time they meet, they never run out of things to talk about. Sometimes I wonder if I’m the third wheel.”
Mother Su’s thoughts were interrupted, and she laughed. “Isn’t that so…”
Su Ci knew the Lu family was also vacationing at the resort, and on the same flight as them. She secretly shot a proud little look at Lu Zhe.
How could there be so many coincidences?
This was clearly premeditated.
All the way, Father Su and Lu Chen bickered nonstop, while Mother Su was pulled ahead by Wen Ya, chatting enthusiastically about the latest styles.
The two little shorties held hands as they walked in the middle, occasionally sneaking glances back at their older sister and future brother-in-law.
Su Ci and Lu Zhe walked side by side, but kept a full meter of distance between them.
She turned her head and looked at the boy beside her whose face was expressionless, looking as if he truly wasn’t familiar with her. She smiled. “Didn’t you say you were very busy lately?”
Lu Zhe’s dark eyes shifted toward her. “Mm. Since I came out these few days, Uncle Fang will have to work hard.”
Su Ci blinked, her black pupils filled with laughter. “Lu Zhe, admit it, you just wanted to see me.”
The youth looked straight ahead and ignored the girl’s teasing, but under his black short hair, the tips of his ears quietly turned red.
Su Ci stared at the flushed tips of his ears and had to restrain the urge to walk over and bite them.
This silent tsundere—if he wanted to see her, he could just say so. If she was in a good mood, she might even reward him with a kiss.
But with their parents walking in front, Su Ci didn’t dare flirt recklessly with Lu Zhe.
Once on the plane, Su Ci realized that even the Lu family’s seats were arranged directly in front of and behind them. Mother Su and Father Su each carried a child and sat in the row ahead, while Lu Chen and Wen Ya sat across the aisle.
Su Ci looked at Lu Zhe seated beside her, her eyes curved as she lowered her voice to ask the youth, “Did you deliberately buy a ticket next to mine?”
Lu Zhe shook his head. “My dad told someone to arrange it.”
When it came to relationships, Lu Chen had far more experience than his son Lu Zhe. After learning that the Su family was traveling together, he enthusiastically reported it to his wife, then had someone investigate the Su family’s flight and even booked out the remaining seats in first class.
In first class, aside from the Su family and the Lu family, there were no other passengers at all.
Su Ci was a little surprised. She noticed that although Lu Zhe resembled his father a bit around the brows and eyes, their personalities were completely opposite.
She felt fortunate—Lu Zhe’s temperament was colder, more silent, not as bold and flamboyant as his father.
The flight from City B to the resort area took two hours.
Su Ci sat there, bored, but with her parents right in front of her, she didn’t have the nerve to lean closer to Lu Zhe.
So, she simply reached out and deliberately used her fingertips to hook the hand Lu Zhe had resting on the armrest.
The girl was terribly mischievous. Her fingertips, like a tiny bug, burrowed straight into his palm, the soft pads of her fingers teasing the center of his hand again and again.
It made a person’s heart itch.
Lu Zhe’s hand tightened and caught the girl’s restless little hand. He gave her a helpless glance, his lowered voice carrying a hint of indulgence. “Don’t mess around.”
When had Su Ci ever obediently listened to him?
She continued teasing him with her fingertips, just to see that helpless yet out-of-control look on his face.
At that moment, Mother Su suddenly turned around. Su Ci immediately looked toward the window with a completely serious expression, while her hand remained firmly held in Lu Zhe’s. Luckily, the seats blocked it, and Mother Su couldn’t see a thing.
When Mother Su turned back, Su Ci shifted her head again and smiled at Lu Zhe like a little fox who had just stolen something successfully.
In the bright light, her smiling eyes were full of scattered stars.
Such a beautiful, captivating girl, yet filled with so much playful wickedness. It made one’s teeth itch with frustration and left them utterly helpless.
Lu Zhe tightened his grip on her little hand, lifted her mischievous fingertip to his lips, and when the girl’s eyes widened in surprise, he opened his mouth and bit down on her fingertip.
When they got off the plane, Su Ci’s little face was red. She obediently followed behind her parents and didn’t tease Lu Zhe anymore.
Thinking of how her finger had been bitten and then held in his mouth, her dark eyes sparkled and her cheeks grew hot.
She realized Lu Zhe had learned to be bad. Even worse than her!
Outside the airport, cars were already waiting.
The Su family got into their own car, while on the Lu family’s side, Lu Chen had clearly arranged a car for pickup as well.
Inside the car, Mother Su asked her husband, “Why is the Lu family suddenly going to the resort too? And on the exact same day?”
Even the same day was already something, but the same flight too. Too many coincidences meant it couldn’t just be coincidence.
Father Su chuckled. “That sly fox Lu Chen has to compete with me in everything. I casually mentioned taking you all out to have some fun, and that guy immediately brought his wife and son out too. He’s obviously doing it on purpose to go against me.”
Father Su was already used to Lu Chen trying to compete with him in everything. “That fox is so childish. Even a vacation, he has to compare with me.”
Mother Su knew her husband hadn’t even considered the possibility of anything between their daughter and Lu Zhe.
“But can he compare? We have three kids, and he only has one son.” In this regard, Lu Chen could never win.
Mother Su was speechless. Once her husband and Lu Chen were put together, the two men became even more childish than elementary schoolers.
In the other car, Su Ci was in a very good mood, completely unaware that Mother Su was suspicious about the Lu family’s sudden appearance.
The holiday resort was built in a village set along the mountains and waters. Not only was the property vast, but its interior design was ancient in style. With the peaceful surrounding environment and the refreshing air, it made people feel instantly at ease.
The Su family’s holiday resort had done well with its early publicity, and since its recent opening, many visitors had begun coming in one after another.
However, consumption here was expensive. Tourists who came were either wealthy or giving the Su family face.
When the car arrived at the resort’s parking area, the Su and Lu families got out one after another. The resort manager had already been waiting at the entrance to welcome them.
“President Su, the rooms are ready,” the manager said with a respectful smile.
The luggage was handled by staff to be delivered to their rooms, and the manager led Father Su and the others inside.
Today happened to be Saturday, so there were quite a few visitors walking around.
The manager introduced the facilities while updating Father Su on the resort’s situation over the past few opening days.
Thick-skinned as always, Lu Chen directly asked Father Su for two rooms—right next to theirs—saying it was “convenient for playing together.”
In the end, Father Su and Mother Su stayed in a luxury suite with the two little ones. Su Ci’s room was beside her parents’, Lu Chen and Wen Ya stayed in the room next to Su Ci’s, and Lu Zhe stayed in the room across from his parents.
The resort was built against the mountains and beside the water. In the scorching summer, the temperature inside the resort was lower than outside, and occasional breezes made it very comfortable.
When Su Ci entered her room, she discovered that not only did it have a courtyard, but also a private outdoor hot spring.
However, Su Ci hadn’t brought a swimsuit, and she definitely didn’t have the habit of soaking in a hot spring under the sun.
She treasured her skin too much. If she was going to soak in a hot spring, she’d wait until after sunset.
After placing her luggage down, she stepped outside and happened to run into Lu Zhe coming out of the room diagonally across from hers. She leaned in and asked, “Does your room have a hot spring?”
Lu Zhe responded, “Mm, in the courtyard.”
Hearing this, Su Ci thought of something, her eyes lighting up, mischief flashing within them. “After dinner, I’ll come find you to soak in the hot spring together.”
“No.” Lu Zhe refused without a moment’s hesitation.
Su Ci’s eyes widened in anger.
A couple soaking in a hot spring together, how romantic and intimate! And Lu Zhe actually rejected her?
Unwilling to give up, Su Ci lowered her voice. “You don’t want to see what I look like in a swimsuit?”
Even though she hadn’t brought one, she could ask the resort staff for one. Since the resort had hot springs, they would definitely provide swimsuits for guests. And if not, she still had a small tank top and very short shorts in her luggage, which she could wear to soak.
Lu Zhe gave the girl a helpless glance. “I don’t want to.”
Su Ci pursed her lips unhappily. Her figure was so good even she felt shy when she saw herself. If she wore a swimsuit, she would definitely be a sight worth seeing—yet Lu Zhe wasn’t even a little interested?
She glared at the youth, then looked him up and down. “You don’t want to see mine, but I want to see yours.”
Lu Zhe was dressed casually today. A white T-shirt on top, black long pants on the bottom—simple and handsome. Although the youth looked lean, she knew that once he took his shirt off, his figure was excellent.
The last time she touched his abdomen, she still remembered the firm sensation.
Lu Zhe gave her a faint look, then pinched her soft cheek with his cool fingers. “Don’t even think about it.” He saw through the girl’s wicked intentions instantly. Could she not behave for once?
Just as Su Ci was about to say something else, the door of Lu Zhe’s parents’ room opened beside them.
Lu Chen looked toward his son instinctively. “Oh, you’re both here. Getting ready to eat?”
