Night.
Su Ci walked out of the bathroom after taking a bath. She had just soaked in a tub of hot water, and her snow-white skin carried a faint pink hue.
Her fair face was flushed with heat. After the hot bath, Su Ci felt an indescribable discomfort all over her body. That strange sensation kept spreading through her, and the familiar feeling made her subconsciously knit her brows.
Could it be…
Su Ci was startled. She remembered that it hadn’t even been three months since the last time. Could it be coming early?
Her body was extremely uncomfortable, and Su Ci walked toward the large bed.
The strange sensation inside her kept surging outward, making her snowy cheeks flush and her eyes shimmer with color.
Su Ci’s breathing grew a little unsteady. Feeling both miserable and ashamed, she sat there, inexplicably wanting to do something.
Perhaps it was an illusion, but she felt that this time was even stronger than the last — so strong that she couldn’t ignore it.
Helpless and at a loss, Su Ci lay on her side, closed her eyes, and silently recited Buddhist scriptures, trying to calm her heart.
Her legs pressed together, half her face buried into the pillow. No, it wasn’t working.
Wu… she wanted Lu Zhe.
Just then, the phone placed to the side rang.
Su Ci picked up the phone and saw that Lu Zhe was video calling her.
She answered.
In the next second, the boy’s cold and handsome face appeared on the screen.
Su Ci’s eyes brightened slightly, and she called out to him weakly.
On the screen, the girl’s small face was flushed scarlet, her eyes moist. She lay sideways on her pillow, brows slightly furrowed, looking as if she were in discomfort.
Lu Zhe’s gaze paused. “What happened?”
Su Ci blinked and immediately complained to him, “Lu Zhe, I’m not feeling well.”
“Where? Are you sick?” Lu Zhe’s gaze subconsciously shifted to the top of the girl’s head. Seeing that no rabbit ears had popped out, he finally let out a breath.
“My whole body feels bad, my whole body is uncomfortable.” Her estrus period had annoyingly come early.
The girl’s little face was full of blush, her eyes moist, truly looking unwell. Lu Zhe grew worried. “Does it hurt a lot? Do you need to go to the hospital?”
Su Ci refused. “I’m not going.”
Even if she went, it wouldn’t help. Could a doctor treat a rabbit’s estrus period?
She rubbed her feet together uncomfortably and whimpered, “When I see you, I won’t feel bad.”
At those words, the tension in Lu Zhe’s heart instantly dissipated. He let out a soft laugh. “Am I your medicine?”
That strange feeling inside her surged even more violently than last time, making Su Ci even more uncomfortable. Her face reddened further, and the small tear mole beneath her eye carried a seductive charm. The girl looked like the most delicate blossom on a branch, extraordinarily alluring.
Su Ci’s dark, glimmering eyes gazed at Lu Zhe. “Yes, you’re my medicine.”
She really wanted to lean against him… to feel even a little better.
Through the screen, Lu Zhe also noticed that the girl’s face was growing even redder, as if she no longer had the strength to speak. He grew worried again. “Tuan Tuan, what’s wrong with you?”
It felt like countless tiny ants were biting at the tip of her heart — not painful, but unbearably itchy.
Su Ci tried hard to ignore the strange feeling in her body. She gripped her phone tightly and said pitifully, “Lu Zhe, I’m not feeling well, only you can help me.”
Thinking about how she was in City C while Lu Zhe was currently in City B, Su Ci felt utterly hopeless.
She was too unlucky. How could her estrus period happen now?
Su Ci pressed her lips together. She could only endure it on her own.
“I’m hanging up.” She could only look at Lu Zhe on the phone, unable to touch him, which would only make her feel worse.
And Su Ci didn’t want Lu Zhe to see her like this.
Usually, before every video call, she would adjust the lighting, choose the best angle, put on the prettiest dress, ensuring that she appeared at her most beautiful in Lu Zhe’s eyes.
But now, her hair was damp and messy as she lay on her side. She didn’t look good like this at all.
The girl quickly hung up the video.
Lu Zhe’s brows furrowed slightly.
“Zai Zai, it’s so late. You haven’t even had dinner yet, and you’re going out?” Wen Ya saw her son coming downstairs with a travel bag in hand. “Are you going somewhere far?”
“Mom, I have something to do. I need to go to City C for a bit. I’ll be back soon.” On Lu Zhe’s cold, rigid face, there was a trace of urgency.
Wen Ya worried about her son’s health. “Zai Zai, it takes two to three hours to fly to City C. Eat some dinner before leaving.”
“Mom, don’t worry, I’ll eat on the plane.” Lu Zhe checked the time. “I’m heading out first.”
Watching her son’s hurried figure, Wen Ya might not know what had happened, but she could guess that it must be related to Su Ci.
After all this time, she had nearly figured out her son’s temperament. He was the complete opposite of her husband — cold-natured, calm and reserved despite his young age. Apart from Su Ci, he never showed emotion toward anything else.
Her Zai Zai must have suffered a lot to grow into such a quiet, cold child.
Wen Ya’s heart ached.

Night deepened. In City C, the rain had been falling nonstop from the afternoon until now — a continuous pattering, quite bothersome.
Su Ci, suffering, turned over again. She received a message, glanced at it, and casually replied.
She didn’t know how long had passed.
The doorbell rang.
Su Ci’s face was flushed. She tugged at her slipping nightdress and weakly crawled out of bed.
She looked out through the peephole. The cold, handsome face she saw instantly cleared her mind.
She opened the door. Su Ci stared in surprise at the boy standing outside. “Why are you here?”
The girl’s cheeks were flushed on both sides, and her forehead was damp with fine beads of sweat. Lu Zhe reached out to touch her forehead. Her temperature was normal. “Where does it hurt?”
The boy’s large hand was cool, carrying the chill of the rain outside. Su Ci pressed his hand against her burning face and rubbed softly. “You came because you heard me say I didn’t feel well?”
Lu Zhe lowered his gaze to her. “Mm.”
Su Ci’s eyes lit up. How could her boy be so good?
Lu Zhe continued asking, “How did your body suddenly start feeling unwell? I’ll take you to the hospital?”
Su Ci’s fair fingertips curled around the hem of his black shirt. She rose onto her tiptoes and leaned toward his ear. “Do you want to know the reason?”
The boy’s long, black lashes trembled, waiting for her words.
Su Ci, rare for her, felt a little shy, but she still told him honestly, “A rabbit’s estrus period.”
Lu Zhe’s eyes widened in shock, his dark gaze fixed on her.
For some reason, Lu Zhe suddenly remembered what his deskmate Li Dongliang had said — that three-month-old rabbits entered sexual maturity, meaning they would go into heat. Back then, Li Dongliang had even tried to make his ugly gray rabbit breed with his Tuan Tuan.
And now, this girl…
The door was closed.
Lu Zhe looked at the girl softly leaning against him, her face flushed, her eyes shimmering like freshly picked peaches still covered with dew, so tempting one could hardly resist biting into her.
He tried to support her extremely soft waist, his expression growing slightly unnatural. “How do you return to normal?”
Pressing against him, Su Ci felt a little less uncomfortable. “If you hold me tight, I’ll feel a little better.”
Lu Zhe held her tighter.
The girl wore a camisole silk nightdress. The smooth, thin fabric clung to her skin, and Lu Zhe felt his palms growing hot.
Su Ci pulled Lu Zhe toward the bed, guiding him to lie down.
She lay on his chest before she finally eased a little.
Su Ci was still not satisfied. “Hold me tighter.”
Lu Zhe didn’t make a sound, but his arms tightened.
The discomfort in her body eased again, and Su Ci quietly lay there. “Normally it only acts up every half month. I don’t know why it came early this time.”
“How long will this state last?”
“Once every three months, lasting three days, once or twice a day.” Su Ci looked at Lu Zhe pitifully. “Why am I so miserable?”
She thought of the way rabbits acted when in estrus — it was too terrifying. Now she was just like that rabbit.
Su Ci rubbed her cheek against Lu Zhe’s chest. “Lu Zhe, you have to help me.”
This rabbit estrus period situation was entirely beyond Lu Zhe’s understanding. He knew nothing about it. He touched the soft hair at the back of her head. “How do I help you?”
In her chest, it felt like a mischievous little rabbit was bouncing nonstop. That abnormal sensation surged up again, and she rubbed against Lu Zhe’s body in discomfort. She lifted her head and bit down on Lu Zhe’s exquisite jawline. “Let’s do it.”
