Yan Qiongyu could control his own actions, but he could not control his body’s reactions or the overflow of his pheromones.
If the alpha present at this moment were anyone other than Wang Luan, there would likely have been only one outcome—death. Because the pheromones released during the heat of a top-tier 3S omega could affect almost any alpha whose mental strength was lower than his.
Except for Wang Luan, who lacked androstenone and could not perceive this temptation at all.
What Yan Qiongyu carried on him was not only intoxicating agents, but also some other lethal drugs.
“Sleep.” Yan Qiongyu’s voice was a little hoarse.
Wang Luan crawled back onto the bed. Hearing this hoarse voice that made one’s ears itch, she asked with concern, “Is your throat swollen? Why has your voice gone hoarse?”
From the moment he heard her mention the air freshener, Yan Qiongyu’s face had lost all expression. He did not even continue to use that fake, gentle smile to conceal his emotions, only saying as calmly as possible, “It’s nothing.”
Wang Luan did not press further. Seeing that Yan Qiongyu had no other needs, she prepared to sleep, but after lying down, she always felt as if she had forgotten something.
She stared at the airship hull she had pieced together above her head for quite a while, then suddenly sat up. “Isn’t the Fifth Prince still outside?”
She had dragged him back and then completely forgotten about him, tossing him aside. So much of the night had passed—he wouldn’t have frozen into an ice sculpture, would he?
After hesitating for a moment, Wang Luan still got up and went out. Not long after, she dragged back the still-unconscious Fifth Prince and placed him in the only empty corner of the small house.
Such a big build wasn’t for nothing—he was resistant to the cold. After being frozen for so long while unconscious, he still wasn’t dead.
Wang Luan didn’t quite know what to do with him. Killing him wasn’t appropriate, and if she really did kill him, the royal family would never let them off. But if she didn’t touch him, once the Fifth Prince woke up, he wouldn’t let them off either.
She thought about it for three minutes, spared herself the trouble, and decided to hand this difficult problem over to the clever Yan Qiongyu to resolve, then went back to sleep without the slightest burden.
When she woke up in the morning, she found that they were once again tangled together as usual—more precisely, she was completely wrapped up in Yan Qiongyu’s arms.
Perhaps from being held for so long, she had finally grown desensitized. Her goosebumps appeared only perfunctorily for a moment.
Damn it… she even felt that sleeping like this was kind of comfortable.
Yan Qiongyu lay on his side, holding her in his arms, his breathing heavy—clearly fast asleep.
Wang Luan reasoned that during his fever, his body might feel cold, which was why he was holding her like this. She decided to face this intimate posture openly, pried apart his tightly locked arms, and wriggled out of his embrace.
Today on the desolate planet was another clear day. She went to the water-collecting device to draw water, and couldn’t help sniffing herself in the morning breeze.
The smell of sweat wasn’t very strong; more prominent was the scent of Yan Qiongyu’s pheromones. This smell had lingered in the small house all night and had practically soaked into her.
It reminded her of that previous chaotic marking. For a period of time, her body had also emitted this same pheromone scent.
Back then, the servants who smelled the residual scent on her all wore very subtle expressions. She had even overheard male servants whispering among themselves, discussing just what they had done to have such a scent exchange.
Speaking of which, an alpha emitting an omega’s scent did sound rather suggestive, but the relationship between her and Yan Qiongyu really couldn’t have been more innocent.
A new day, and still no one had come to rescue them. They still had to survive on this desolate planet.
After solving the problem of warmth, new problems were pressing and in urgent need of resolution. They had no food left. There were only two nutrient solutions remaining—at most enough to last until tomorrow, and that was assuming both she and Yan Qiongyu ate at the bare minimum.
These past two days, her stomach had never truly been full; she was often uncomfortably hungry. Today, she set herself the task of going farther out to look for food.
Today she could use the Fifth Prince’s mecha. The efficiency would definitely be higher than yesterday’s, and she could go farther to search.
It was just that she wasn’t familiar with operating the Fifth Prince’s mecha. This mecha was built to suit a double-S alpha’s physical capabilities, with many functions that Wang Luan couldn’t use and found overly cumbersome.
To fully control this mecha, she would also need to repair some of the things inside the cockpit that had been damaged during yesterday’s fight. There was no need—right now, she only needed this mecha as a transport tool.
When Yan Qiongyu woke from the heavy, scorching-swamp-like weight, he heard constant clanking sounds coming from outside.
It was Wang Luan dismantling the mecha. A whole mecha had been taken apart by her until almost nothing remained but a power cabin and the leanest possible frame.
Wang Luan climbed into this lightened version of the mecha. After circling the area twice, she was soon able to drive it into high-speed running. Compared to yesterday’s stumbling, awkward gait, she had improved a great deal.
Yan Qiongyu listened to the sounds outside without moving at all, yet in his mind, the image of Wang Luan piloting the skeletal mecha over to the small house automatically formed.
His 3S mental power had already fully recovered. Coupled with the heightened sensitivity of his senses during this special period, even without using his eyes, he could capture Wang Luan’s presence and sounds.
The cover at the doorway was gently pushed aside. Yan Qiongyu turned his head and saw the mecha’s massive hand gripping the doorframe as it bent down, revealing Wang Luan seated above.
Just now, Wang Luan had been making the mecha perform various movements—walking, jumping, running, grabbing rocks—and then had it push open the door of the little house to take a look, as if she were playing with a toy.
When she met Yan Qiongyu’s gaze, the mecha she was driving immediately retreated.
Jumping down from the mecha, Wang Luan walked into the house and pushed both sides of the door fully open, letting the sunlight outside shine in.
She sat by the bed and drank half a tube of nutrient solution, then handed the other half to Yan Qiongyu and asked him, “I’m going to drive the mecha farther out today to look for food. You’ll keep resting here?”
Seeing that he was still in that damp state, with the black hair by his cheeks never seeming to dry and the flush on his face not yet faded, she knew that being sick like this meant he definitely couldn’t go out.
Yan Qiongyu simply said, “Okay.”
Wang Luan watched him without moving. After a moment, seeing that he still hadn’t reacted, she urged him, “The nutrient solution—hurry up and drink it.”
Yan Qiongyu said, “I’ll eat it later.” He couldn’t eat anything at all; the only sensations he had were an increasingly unbearable stirring and thirst.
Wang Luan stared at him, silently cheering herself on. Then, under Yan Qiongyu’s puzzled gaze, she grabbed that half tube of nutrient solution and poked it right up to his mouth.
Yan Qiongyu: “…………What are you—coff coff coff!”
Taking advantage of the moment he opened his mouth to speak, Wang Luan swiftly squeezed half the tube of nutrient solution into his mouth.
She squeezed too fast. The thick nutrient solution made Yan Qiongyu choke. He propped himself up and coughed nonstop, startling Wang Luan into patting his back. Some of the nutrient solution he hadn’t had time to swallow flowed out and smeared his lips; Yan Qiongyu frowned and stuck out his tongue to lick it away.
Seeing this, Wang Luan unconsciously licked her own lips as well. Maybe she was hungry—half a tube of nutrient solution wasn’t enough to fill her.
“Cough, cough…” Yan Qiongyu coughed twice more, his questioning gaze sharp as the needles he so often used.
Wang Luan took out another half tube of nutrient solution from where they were stored. “This is the half you didn’t finish yesterday, right? I was just afraid you wouldn’t eat again… There’s no need to save it for me. You should eat it yourself. If you don’t eat, how are you going to hold on?”
Only then did Yan Qiongyu understand why she had suddenly done that. His expression was hard to describe, and he couldn’t be bothered to explain it to her. With little strength, he waved his hand at her.
Hurry up and go.
Wang Luan went out, but judging from the sounds, she didn’t leave immediately. Through the open door, Yan Qiongyu saw her drag the Fifth Prince over to a rock not far away, tie him up firmly with rope again, looping it around him several more times, and bind him to the rock.
After finishing all this, she ran over carrying a big bowl of water and said to him, “I was afraid that if he woke up and broke free, so I tied him up a couple more times to secure him. And here’s water—I’ll put it here. You drink it yourself. I’ll definitely be back before dark.”
Only then did she hurry off.
Yan Qiongyu realized that she was worried he might be afraid being alone here with the Fifth Prince, which was why she had tied him up twice more to put her mind at ease. Sometimes, she was unexpectedly considerate. And there was also this bowl of water placed within easy reach.
“Mmm…” Yan Qiongyu stopped thinking further, turned onto his side, and held back a muffled groan.
Today was the second day. The heat had arrived fiercely. The first reaction was always the strongest, and without relying on medication, forcing himself to suppress it only made the situation even worse.
Yesterday, there had only been a faint pheromone scent. Today, it had already grown several times more intense.
This pheromone scent failed to provoke any reaction from Wang Luan—she had foolishly said something about how great the air freshener was—but it did affect another alpha here.
The Fifth Prince’s injuries were not serious; he had only been beaten by Wang Luan to the point of slight disfigurement. The moment he opened his eyes, before his mind had fully cleared, this scent belonging to a top-tier omega invaded his senses. His bloodshot, reddened eyes stared toward the small house as he struggled excitedly.
Yan Qiongyu sensed the disturbance. The Fifth Prince had already broken free from the rock and was straining hard, trying to break loose from the tightly bound ropes around his body.
Yan Qiongyu paused for a moment, then got up and walked outside. He moved very slowly. When he passed the pile of materials Wang Luan had dismantled and stacked to one side, he casually pulled out a support rod to use as a walking aid.
Stopping in front of the Fifth Prince, Yan Qiongyu looked down at the alpha struggling on the ground. Already dominated by instinct, he looked utterly ugly, desperate to approach him, as the pungent, rusty-smelling pheromones surged out wildly.
“How unpleasant.” Yan Qiongyu calmly raised the support rod in his hand and smashed it down hard onto the Fifth Prince’s face, carving out a bloody welt.
Because of the torment his body was undergoing, he had little strength. He slowly lashed several more bloody marks across the Fifth Prince’s face, beating him until he no longer tried to crawl forward, and only then lowered his hand.
The sharp end of the support rod pressed against the Fifth Prince’s throat. Yan Qiongyu considered whether he should kill this unstable element that had disrupted his plans.
On this desolate planet, disposing of a corpse would be easy.
On the night before being stranded on this desolate planet, the genetic report he received showed that he carried half of the royal bloodline. By that measure, he and the Fifth Prince were related. But he did not care about any such kinship—what he was thinking about now was only whether the Fifth Prince was still of any use.
After some thought, Yan Qiongyu gave up on killing the Fifth Prince immediately. He had thought of a better method.
He bent down, grabbed the Fifth Prince by the head, and slammed him into the sand, driving his 3S mental power straight into his brain.
When the Fifth Prince’s struggling gradually stopped and his instinct-driven eyes became dull, Yan Qiongyu released his head and left him lying there on the ground.
A trace of the rusty pheromone scent had gotten onto his hands. Yan Qiongyu lowered his gaze and wiped his fingers clean.
Both were alphas, yet his repulsion toward the Fifth Prince made him think of how he had been holding Wang Luan these past two days—he had never felt repelled by her.
Perhaps it was because he had once exchanged glandular fluid and pheromones with Wang Luan… He did not want to think about reasons beyond bodily instinct.
