However, when she finished her third cup, Fugui couldn’t help but jump out.
Fugui was frantic: 【Master, you can’t drink anymore. If you keep drinking, your rabbit ears are going to pop out.】
Su Ci’s hand holding the cup froze. “What?”
Fugui hurried to explain: 【Alcohol harms the body and your spiritual energy. Your spiritual energy decreases a little, and your rabbit ears will appear — same principle as getting sick.】
Su Ci was stunned. “Why didn’t you tell me earlier?!”
Fugui trembled: 【Master, I forgot.】
Su Ci almost ground her teeth in anger. Worried that her rabbit ears would really pop out in front of Boss Fang and Xiao Kuaile, she quickly set down her cup and didn’t dare touch it again.
However, she had already drunk three cups of plum wine. Feeling an itch on the top of her head, Su Ci realized her awareness came too late.
Under the table, a small hand suddenly reached over and tugged at Lu Zhe’s clothes.
He glanced sideways at Su Ci, only to see the girl looking at him pitifully, struggling to think of how to speak.
At that moment, Boss Fang got up to scoop more rice from the kitchen. Su Ci immediately leaned close. “Lu Zhe, we have to go back right now.”
Lu Zhe didn’t understand. “Mm?”
Su Ci’s face was red, her expression full of shame. “My rabbit ears are about to come out!”
Lu Zhe instinctively looked at the top of her head, his brows tightening. “What’s going on?”
“I just remembered I can’t drink.” Su Ci tugged at his clothes. “Hurry and take me back.”
“Xiao Zhe, there’s still a lot of food in the kitchen. Eat more.” Boss Fang came out carrying rice.
Lu Zhe stood up. “We’re full, Uncle Fang. I’ll take the afternoon off.”
Boss Fang was startled. “What’s wrong?”
“I… I got drunk. Lu Zhe needs to take me back.” Su Ci’s body softened and she leaned directly into Lu Zhe.
Boss Fang guessed that maybe the green plum wine this time had a higher alcohol content than before, for it to have such a quick after-effect. He regretted letting the young girl drink so much. “Then Xiao Zhe, send Xiao Ci back. I’ll watch the shop.”
“Alright.” Lu Zhe supported Su Ci as they went downstairs.
When they walked out of the shop, Su Ci suddenly laughed, her eyes lifting with a sly curve. “Lu Zhe, aren’t I smart? I even know how to pretend to be drunk.”
Lu Zhe raised a brow. “You forgot something as important as your rabbit ears popping out when you get drunk, are you sure you’re smart?”
Su Ci choked on her breath. She had no way to argue, so she could only let Fugui take the blame.
“Stand here for a moment.” Lu Zhe told her to stand still and ran into a nearby boutique.
Soon after, he came back with a hat in hand and put it on her.
Su Ci’s anxious heart settled instantly. Her eyes glimmered as she looked at the boy before her. “Lu Zhe, you’re so good. When we get back, I’ll let you rub my ears.”
Lu Zhe glanced at her with a faint, unreadable expression and didn’t reply.
Sitting in the car, Su Ci could feel her rabbit ears truly emerging, and she quickly held her hat firmly in place.
When they returned home, she rushed into her room, pulled off the hat, and stared at the mirror. Seeing herself with a pair of rabbit ears on top of her head, she asked Fugui, “When will my rabbit ears go back this time?”
Fugui: 【Once Master’s drunkenness fades, the rabbit ears will disappear.】
Hearing this, Su Ci’s black eyes brightened. Getting rid of alcohol wouldn’t take long. She didn’t need to worry about being stuck indoors for days like when she was sick.
Thinking of this, her mood lifted. She couldn’t help admiring herself in the mirror.
It wasn’t narcissism — she really was beautiful. After drinking, her eyes looked as if soaked in water, bright and alluring. Her fair face carried a soft pink flush, unbelievably pretty.
And now, with this pair of outrageously soft, adorable bunny ears… If Lu Zhe still managed to ignore her later, he truly wasn’t a man!
Su Ci left the room and found Lu Zhe in the kitchen.
“What are you doing?” The boy wore an apron, busy in front of the counter.
“Hangover soup.” He had searched the recipe online, it wasn’t difficult.
Su Ci immediately formed a wicked plan. There was no way she wanted hangover soup. If she drank it, the alcohol would disappear instantly, and her rabbit ears would retract.
She walked over and grabbed Lu Zhe’s hand. “I’m not drinking that. You don’t need to make it. I’m not even drunk.”
Lu Zhe lowered his eyes to look at her. The girl’s dark eyes were unusually bright, watery — unlike someone who was “not drunk.”
Su Ci pulled him out of the kitchen. “Lu Zhe, while I have this chance, I’ll let you touch my ears.”
She was wickedly mischievous, thinking only of coaxing Lu Zhe to kiss her.
Yesterday at the movie theatre, they only kissed three times — far from enough. There was still more than a month left before the college entrance exams; such a long period without seeing Lu Zhe… she needed more kisses to maintain her human form.
Soft and fluffy, pinkish-white bunny ears were right in front of him. The girl generously let him touch them.
Lu Zhe didn’t move.
Su Ci urged him, “Hurry up.”
Could it be that her rabbit ears had lost their charm on him?
Impossible.
Her rabbit ears — even she liked them so much she wanted to touch them herself. Lu Zhe couldn’t possibly not like them.
“Are you sure?” Lu Zhe’s lips pressed slightly together.
He remembered all too well how overly sensitive her rabbit ears were. Just a light touch and her whole body would go weak. Last time, he had pinched the tip of her ear, and she could barely stand.
Hearing him ask this, Su Ci began to hesitate. After all, her ears were too sensitive. She still remembered the soft, powerless feeling from last time.
Su Ci thought for a moment, worried she wouldn’t be able to stand steadily later. She pulled Lu Zhe over to the sofa and sat down. “Alright, I won’t be afraid of falling if I’m sitting. Hurry and touch.”
Equivalent exchange — after he touched her ears, she would kiss him.
Lu Zhe found it funny. “Mm.”
As long as she didn’t regret it.
Hearing his response, Su Ci leaned her head forward on her own, making it easier for him to touch her ears. “You have to be gentle.”
Lu Zhe’s large hand was cool to the touch. When he placed it on her soft, pinkish-white ear, the girl’s ear trembled slightly — maybe from being too sensitive.
Soft, fluffy — it felt incredibly good to touch.
The moment his hand touched her ear, Su Ci’s body instantly went limp. She rested her head against Lu Zhe’s chest, her voice soft and thin as she reminded him, “Lu Zhe, o-only touch once…”
Lu Zhe’s lips curved, but he didn’t respond.
His large hand stroked along her rabbit ear again and again, lightly kneading it, showing no intention of stopping.
Su Ci’s black eyes were watery, shimmering beautifully. She leaned weakly against him, waves of strange sensations hitting her one after another. She was so angry she wanted to bite him. “Only once!”
She had clearly said only one touch, but now she had lost count of how many times Lu Zhe had touched her rabbit ears. “I’m losing! I’m losing big time!”
Lu Zhe’s palm tingled from the soft white fur brushing against it. Hearing her words, he let out a low, magnetic laugh. “Who was the one urging me earlier?”
If he hadn’t touched them, she would’ve been the one upset.
Don’t ask — Su Ci regretted everything.
Right now she had no strength at all. She was like a fat rabbit laid out on the chopping board, completely at Lu Zhe’s mercy.
Smiling, Lu Zhe gently pinched the tip of her ear with his fingertips and asked in a low voice, “Are you still going to misbehave in the future?”
With her taking the initiative and letting him touch her ears, how could he not guess her intentions and the schemes she had in mind?
Su Ci’s body went soft again, almost melting. She looked at him pitifully. “Wu… you can’t touch anymore.”
Meeting her shimmering, water-bright eyes, Lu Zhe’s cool voice carried a touch of coaxing. “Be good from now on.”
“How am I not good?” Su Ci weakly tugged at his clothes, trying to dispel the strange sensations spreading through her body.
Lu Zhe’s thin lips curved, and the faint little dimple on his face appeared. “You’re not good anywhere.”
The girl was always full of mischievous tricks, constantly thinking of ways to tease him.
Truly wicked.
Thinking this, he lowered his head, and his cool lips kissed her soft rabbit ear.
In the next second, Su Ci’s eyes widened in disbelief. Her ears trembled from sensitivity, both numb and soft.
Her face flushed red, feeling as though she were about to melt.

The May Day holiday was only three days long. On the last day, Su Ci had to return to City B.
Watching the boy helping her pack her luggage, she felt a little annoyed. Because he had touched her ears so many times yesterday, she was so weak she had been lying in bed the entire day.
They had kissed, yes — but she could only let Lu Zhe kiss her lightly, like dragonflies touching water. They had already exchanged saliva before, yet somehow they were back to the dragonfly stage again, completely lacking any strength.
She looked down on Lu Zhe — in his previous life and the one before that, he must have been a monk.
Lu Zhe closed the suitcase. He took out a card and handed it to the girl sitting by the bed.
Su Ci looked surprised and didn’t reach out to take it. “Why are you suddenly giving me a card?”
“This was given to me by your family. I didn’t spend any of it. Take it back.” Earlier, someone from her family had come and handed him the card as thanks for taking care of Su Ci for a period of time.
He could earn money himself, he didn’t need money from her family.
“Why won’t you take it? You took care of me; this is money you should take. The Su family is rich anyway, you don’t need to feel bad for me.” Right now, she wished she could just use money to raise him.
“Take it back.” Lu Zhe’s expression was calm.
Su Ci ignored him. Her dark eyes shone as she looked at him. “Take it. If something urgent happens, you can use it. If you really mind, then think of it as me lending you the money. You can pay me back later.”
The college entrance exams were coming soon. She didn’t want him working so hard, under such scorching weather, doing part-time jobs.
Lu Zhe wasn’t refusing because of pride — he simply thought there was no need. But now the girl was glaring at him, looking like she would pounce and bite him if he didn’t accept it.
He let out a sigh. “Mm, I’ll treat it as borrowing from you.”
Only then did Su Ci smile. She tapped his calf with her toes and made her demands. “After I go back, you have to contact me first.”
Lu Zhe: “Mm.”
“You have to video call me often.”
Lu Zhe: “Mm.”
“At night, you have to tell me goodnight.”
Lu Zhe: “Mm. Anything else?”
Su Ci tossed her phone aside and hugged his waist tightly. “I kind of don’t want to go back.”
The girl was acting stubborn.
Lu Zhe’s cold brows and eyes softened a little. In a low voice, he said, “I’ll apply to B University.”
As long as she still needed him, he would stay by her side.
