When the car stopped at the computer shop, Su Ci woke up.
She saw Lu Zhe carefully lift the sleeping Xiao Kuaile from the seat beside him and get out of the car.
He held Xiao Kuaile in one arm and, with the other, carried the small foldable wheelchair he had taken from the trunk as he walked into the computer shop.
Su Ci propped her chin on one hand, leaning against the car window as she looked at him from outside.
The youth had already grown into a man’s strength.
Boss Fang was in the computer shop. When he saw Lu Zhe carrying his son inside, he quickly stood up and went forward, “You’ve worked hard. You two must be tired after taking him out today.”
“It’s nothing, Uncle Fang. Xiao Kuaile had a lot of fun today.” Lu Zhe handed Xiao Kuaile over to Boss Fang.
Boss Fang felt a bit emotional as he took his sleeping son.
Before, when his son’s legs couldn’t move, he tried his best to avoid taking him to parks or playgrounds. Those places were paradises for children, but for his son, they didn’t necessarily bring happiness.
Now that his son could slowly start walking, he hoped his child could live like a normal kid and have more joy in his life.
“Xiao Zhe, thank you.” Boss Fang asked, “Where’s Su Ci?”
“She’s in the car.”
“Didn’t she go back to the Su family? Why is she back again?” Boss Fang was genuinely surprised that Su Ci had returned. After learning her identity, he always felt that Su Ci and ordinary people like them lived in different worlds.
Lu Zhe said, “She has something to do.”
Boss Fang didn’t ask further. “Right, about that new product you gave me last month — a buyer contacted me. If it goes through, the price is at least six figures.”
Actually, if they were a company instead of independent developers, the buyer wouldn’t dare press the price so low. In his eyes, the product Lu Zhe developed was worth at least seven figures.
“Thank you, Uncle Fang.”
“There’s no need to be polite. You’ve helped me plenty.” Boss Fang paused, then continued, “But Xiao Zhe, I’ve been thinking… why don’t we start a company together?”
Even though Lu Zhe was still in school, he had never underestimated him.
People always said poor children matured early. Lu Zhe was capable — he had been earning money on his own to treat his illness from a young age. If anyone else had suffered the same background and a terminal illness, they would have collapsed long ago.
Since Lu Zhe had the ability, instead of feeling stifled working in his small shop, it would be better to start a business himself.
“But to start a company, we still need a sum of money. If you agree to partner with me, I’ll find a way to gather the funds — whether I sell the shop or borrow money.” Boss Fang wanted a better life for his son, and he was willing to take a risk.
“Xiao Zhe, what do you think?”
Lu Zhe said, “I need to go back and think about it.”
“You should think carefully. Take your time, there’s no rush. Your college entrance exams are still the most important thing right now.” Boss Fang had the idea, but starting a company wasn’t like buying vegetables at the market. Everything needed planning, it couldn’t be rushed.
“Alright.”
When Lu Zhe left the computer shop, he saw the car window lowered and a girl leaning against it.
“What took you so long?” Su Ci rested her chin on her arm, lazily lifting her eyes to look at him.
Lu Zhe strode over. He didn’t know if his condition had improved a little, but now even when he walked fast, he no longer limped like before, and he hadn’t fallen again.
Lu Zhe got into the car. “I talked with Uncle Fang for a bit.” He helped Su Ci close the car window. “Still sleepy?”
Su Ci shook her head. Her body naturally and instinctively leaned toward Lu Zhe, lazy and relaxed.
The car continued toward their residence.
Leaning against Lu Zhe, Su Ci idly pulled his hand over to play with it.
“Lu Zhe, your hand is so big.” Su Ci stretched out her palm, comparing it to his large hand. Next to his, her hand looked so small.
Lu Zhe didn’t respond. He lowered his head to look at the girl leaning on his shoulder, his voice carrying a slight unnatural tone. “When you were asleep just now, I answered a call for you.”
“Hm?” Su Ci replied carelessly.
“It was that boy you mentioned last night. He asked if you could go back the day after tomorrow to attend the gathering.” Lu Zhe relayed coldly.
Only then did Su Ci become interested. She sat up and looked at Lu Zhe. “What did you say?”
Lu Zhe said, “I told him I would pass the message to you.”
Su Ci examined his expression. His face was calm, giving no hint of his thoughts. “That’s it?” A call from another boy, he wasn’t even a little angry?
Lu Zhe said, “Mm.”
Su Ci glared at him in annoyance, deciding she didn’t want to talk to him anymore.

The next day, after finishing breakfast, Su Ci went out with Lu Zhe to accompany him to the shop.
When Boss Fang saw Su Ci glued to Lu Zhe’s side, he smiled, but inside, he felt worried for Lu Zhe.
Su Ci had come back from City B and had been following Lu Zhe every day. At this point, if someone said Su Ci felt nothing for Lu Zhe, he would never believe it.
But the Su family was powerful and wealthy. As the Su family’s young miss, whether she needed a political marriage in the future or not, the Su family would never allow her to be with Lu Zhe.
Setting aside Lu Zhe’s background, just his illness alone made it impossible for the Su family to accept Su Ci being with him.
It was a very realistic issue.
If he had a daughter, he wouldn’t want her to be with someone suffering from a terminal illness either.
Rationally, that was how he thought. But emotionally, he leaned toward Lu Zhe, hoping the boy could at least have a beautiful, youthful memory.
Caught in this conflict, Boss Fang could only look at Lu Zhe with regret in his eyes.
“Yesterday, Xiao Kuaile’s maternal grandmother sent over a few bottles of green plum wine. At noon, we can try some while eating. Girls all love this.” Boss Fang put aside all his thoughts and said this to Lu Zhe and Su Ci.
Su Ci’s first reaction was to remind Lu Zhe, “I can drink it, but you can’t. You get drunk the moment you touch alcohol.” She had been present the first time Lu Zhe drank — two cups and he was drunk, and he pestered her the entire night.
Boss Fang laughed. “Green plum wine has very low alcohol content, but Xiao Zhe’s drinking capacity really is bad. He’ll have to practice more in the future.”
“Mm.” Lu Zhe’s lips curved slightly.
At that moment, Xiao Kuaile slowly came downstairs. He held a small notebook and a pen in his hands. After summer vacation ended, he would be going to kindergarten.
Knowing he would be able to attend school, the little guy was overjoyed. He had even started scribbling with a pen.
Boss Fang went out to buy groceries.
Lu Zhe tended the shop, and Su Ci, bored, sat at the small round table, propping her chin up with one hand while she watched Xiao Kuaile doodle on his paper.
“What are these two?” Su Ci asked him.
Xiao Kuaile’s big, dark eyes turned. He was a little shy, his chubby hands gripping the pen. “It’s Sister Ci and Brother Lu Zhe.”
Su Ci looked at the drawing with two round heads. “In your eyes, am I this ugly?”
“Jiejie is pretty,” Xiao Kuaile quickly said.
Su Ci lifted her brows. She snatched Xiao Kuaile’s notebook and pen. “Let me borrow it.”
She walked to the cashier counter and leaned close to Lu Zhe, her eyes bright as she looked at him. “Can you draw?”
She directly shoved the notebook into his hands.
Lu Zhe lifted his eyes. “Draw what?”
“Of course draw me.” Su Ci pulled over a small stool and sat beside him, her eyes showing a hint of pride. “I’ll be your model. Draw me properly.” A model as beautiful as her, he might not encounter one in a lifetime.
Lu Zhe glanced at her, picked up the pen, and began sketching on the small notebook.
Su Ci straightened her back, trying to present her most beautiful posture so he would draw her even more beautifully.
However, not even two minutes passed before Lu Zhe put down the pen. “It’s done.” He closed the notebook and pushed it back into Su Ci’s hands.
“Done?” Su Ci was a bit surprised. “You didn’t draw anything, right? Are you tricking me?”
Lu Zhe’s lips curved.
Xiao Kuaile was very curious about Brother Lu Zhe’s drawing of Sister Ci. The little guy walked over, craning his neck as Su Ci opened the notebook.
The next second, Xiao Kuaile’s mouth dropped open in shock. “Ah, it’s a little bunny!”
A chubby, adorable little bunny.
“Sister Ci is a fat bunny!” Xiao Kuaile laughed so hard his round little belly trembled.
The smile at the corner of Su Ci’s lips disappeared. She looked at Lu Zhe with grievance. “In your eyes, I’m just a rabbit?”
And a round, plump rabbit?
A smile lingered in Lu Zhe’s pitch-black eyes. “Rabbits are very cute.”
You’re very cute too.
When Boss Fang returned after buying groceries, his expression didn’t look very good.
Su Ci asked curiously, “Did something happen?”
“Ai, I was almost hit by a car at the entrance of the market just now. I almost lost my life.” Boss Fang still felt lingering fear. If something happened to him, with his son still so young, there would be no one to take care of him.
Su Ci glanced at Boss Fang’s life value and told him, “Don’t worry. Boss Fang, you have a long-life face. Any danger you encounter in the future will turn into fortune.”
If someone else said this, Boss Fang definitely wouldn’t believe it. But Su Ci was different — she had saved his son, carried a noble aura, like a celestial maiden. Somehow, her words made people believe.
Boss Fang’s brows relaxed, and he smiled. “I’ll go cook a few dishes for you all.”
Saying that, he carried the groceries upstairs.
Su Ci glanced at Lu Zhe, who was sitting in front of the computer. She leaned over, only to see a screen full of code she couldn’t understand. She said to him, “Lu Zhe, you also have a long-life face. Any danger you encounter in the future will also turn into fortune.”
With her around, he would definitely live a long life.
Wu… she really was an unparalleled little treasure!
Lu Zhe’s hands on the keyboard didn’t pause. He responded lightly, “Mm.” He didn’t take the girl’s coaxing words to heart.
Before long, Boss Fang had prepared lunch.
He took out the green plum wine that Xiao Kuaile’s grandmother had delivered. In such hot weather, drinking something cold, sour, and sweet was perfect.
Su Ci drank a small cup and found the taste very good.
Before transmigrating, her body couldn’t handle alcohol, but things were different now. In this body, aside from needing to maintain her human form and being overly delicate, she was perfectly healthy.
She didn’t need to be as cautious as before.
“This green plum wine tastes good, right?” Boss Fang saw Su Ci pour herself another cup. “This was brewed by Xiao Kuaile’s grandmother. Kuaile’s mom used to like drinking it too.”
Beside them, Xiao Kuaile blinked his big eyes and obediently continued eating.
“But don’t drink too much. This wine still has quite a strong after-effect.” Boss Fang said with a cheerful smile.
Su Ci wasn’t worried about getting drunk, Lu Zhe was here anyway.
