Su Ci hated listening the most. Lu Zhe told her not to tempt him, so she prefers to go against his wishes.
She pulled the camera closer to herself. A face that beautiful had no fear of being zoomed in. Her red lips curved as she smiled and said to Lu Zhe, “Not lying to you, next time if I get sick, I’ll let you touch my rabbit ears, as a birthday gift for you.”
Su Ci was extremely narcissistic. She felt that such a gift was simply priceless. After all, no one else could ever see her rabbit ears, much less touch them.
Lu Zhe lowered his eyelids and let out a low laugh.
Su Ci rarely saw Lu Zhe laugh, and rarely heard his laughter. “What are you laughing at?”
The boy lifted his eyes. His pitch-black gaze met the girl on the screen. His thin lips hooked up. “Tuan Tuan, don’t act spoiled.”
She would act spoiled until she cried.
Su Ci didn’t hear Lu Zhe’s meaning at all. She stared at the shallow dimple on the left side of his face and wished she could reach out and poke it. “Lu Zhe, smile again.”
Drunken warmth deepened in the boy’s eyes. He gave the girl a soft laugh. “It’s late. Go to sleep.”
After hanging up the video call, Lu Zhe lay down on the folding bed. He closed his eyes and let his heart sink uncontrollably into indulgence.

These few days at the Su household, Su Ci stayed obediently by Mother Su’s side, giving her plenty of security.
Mother Su looked at the measurements the staff had taken for her daughter and realized her daughter had grown taller again. Even her upper-body measurements had changed. No wonder she always felt the custom-made clothes from before didn’t look quite right — the size had become too small.
Mother Su was beautiful herself, and her husband was also handsome and elegant. She was very proud that all three children had inherited their excellent genes.
Especially her daughter, who grew prettier and more outstanding by the day. Even her figure was curvy and exquisite, perfect to the point of having no flaws.
A daughter she had raised so carefully in the palm of her hand — she had no idea what kind of person in the future would be worthy of her.
At that moment, little Su Ning walked in. He had just woken from his nap, the sleepiness not yet fully gone. His expression was blank, and with his fair skin and soft, milky cuteness, the little dumpling could melt anyone’s heart.
He walked to Mother Su’s side and naturally held his mother’s hand.
“Awake?” Mother Su pulled out the small towel from behind him and handed it to a servant beside her. Children tended to sweat while sleeping, and even with the air-conditioning on, their backs would be covered in sweat once they woke.
“Mommy, I want to eat pudding.” Thinking of pudding, little Su Ning couldn’t help but suck in his saliva.
“Mommy still has things to do. Let your sister take you.” Mother Su said.
In the past, the youngest son loved clinging to his sister, but Su Ci had never been a patient person. She often got impatient after playing with him for just a bit. Most of the time, it was Qin Shiyan who kept him company, and gradually, the little son grew less close to Su Ci and became closer to Qin Shiyan instead.
On the other side, the staff had already finished taking all of Su Ci’s measurements — full body, shoe size, and so on.
Su Ci walked over. She took little Su Ning’s other small hand and saw that the life value above him was only 4 days. Her eyes dimmed slightly. “Let’s go. Sister will take you to eat pudding.”
Suddenly being held by his sister made little Su Ning a bit timid and also a little shy.
“Alright, you two go play.” Mother Su still needed to pick out outfits for her daughter to wear this month.
Little Su Ning followed Su Ci to the first floor.
“Which flavor of pudding do you want?” Su Ci opened the refrigerator and found an entire section filled with different kinds of pudding — clearly prepared especially for the little guy.
“Strawberry pudding.” Little Su Ning’s dark, shiny eyes lit up the moment he saw Su Ci pick up a pink pudding. The corners of his little mouth looked as if drool was about to spill.
Su Ci handed him the pudding. “Besides strawberry pudding, what else does little Su Ning like to eat?”
Holding his beloved pudding, little Su Ning answered, “I like eating the pudding made by Sister Yan.”
“Sister Yan?” Su Ci narrowed her eyes. “Qin Shiyan?”
Little Su Ning nodded his small head. “Sister Yan’s pudding is yummy.”
Su Ci patted his head and asked again, “Then do you like Sister, or do you like Sister Yan more?”
Hearing this question from his sister, little Su Ning was troubled and conflicted. Normally, when Mommy asked him whether he liked Daddy or Mommy more, every time he answered Mommy, Daddy would always pull a long face and be unhappy.
So if he chose Sister or chose Sister Yan, the other one would be unhappy.
But Mommy said children must not lie.
Little Su Ning was so troubled that his two light little eyebrows wrinkled together. His small mouth pouted, and in the end he still answered honestly, “Sister Yan.”
In that moment, Su Ci really wanted to snatch the pudding from the little guy’s hand and make him cry!
Little Su Ning secretly peeked at his sister, afraid she would be sad. He hurried to emphasize, “I like Sister too.”
Su Ci half-squatted down and looked at the little guy. “But you like that Qin Shiyan more, right.”
Little Su Ning tightened his grip on the pudding. Sister was being fierce, and he was a little scared.
Su Ci wasn’t the gentle type. She stretched out her hands and cupped little Su Ning’s cheeks on both sides, squeezing his soft, fair face. His little mouth was squished into a pout, like a tiny goldfish.
She rubbed the little guy, messing up his fine soft hair, and rubbing his cheeks red. The little angel instantly turned into a pitiful little dumpling, still adorably milky-cute.
“Little Su Ning doesn’t like Sister, Sister is heartbroken to death.” Su Ci even pretended to rub her eyes.
Terrified, little Su Ning threw away the pudding in his hand and quickly hugged his sister, anxiously saying, “I like Sister, Ningning likes Sister.”
He patted Su Ci with his little hands in a very mature manner, comforting her. “Ningning doesn’t like Sister Yan anymore, only likes Sister. Sister don’t cry.”
“Really?” Su Ci stopped rubbing her eyes.
“Ningning doesn’t lie.” Little Su Ning straightened his back, his small belly puffed out. He was unbelievably adorable.
Su Ci felt this little brother was truly easy to coax, much easier than Lu Zhe.
She couldn’t help pinching his chubby cheek. “Alright, I believe you.”
Seeing that he had finally coaxed Sister into feeling better, little Su Ning finally smiled. “Sister cried, shy-shy.”
“You little trickster, come on, I’ll take you to play a game.” Su Ci picked up his pudding and shoved it back into his hand, then held his other little hand and led him toward the living room.
“Sister play with Ningning, don’t dislike Ningning for being troublesome.” Little Su Ning’s voice was soft and childish.
“When did I ever think you were troublesome?” After saying that, Su Ci paused. “Did I say that before?”
Little Su Ning’s mouth flattened, and his dark, shiny eyes held a bit of grievance.
Su Ci half-squatted in front of him again, rubbing his head. For the first time, her voice was this gentle. “I’m sorry. Sister accidentally said something that made little Su Ning sad. Sister was wrong. You’re a little angel, not a little trouble. Sister likes you very much.”
Little Su Ning’s round eyes lit up. “Ningning likes Sister too.”
“Come on, share half of your pudding with Sister.”
“Okay, Ningning shares half with Sister.”

When little Su Ning’s life value had only three days left, Su Ci learned from Fugui’s mouth that her brother had drowned.
There was a fountain in the front yard of the Su family, and a lotus pond in the backyard. After Su Ci learned this, she immediately had someone go check the fence around the lotus pond.
“Miss, the fences around both the fountain and the pond have no issues at all.” The butler reported to Su Ci.
“Have people keep an eye on these two places at all times.” Su Ci had always been cautious. Since she knew the cause, she had to strangle all sparks at the root.
Although the butler didn’t understand Su Ci’s intentions, he still passed down the orders and had people patrol the areas from time to time.
On the last day, Su Ci looked at little Su Ning’s life value. She knew the danger had not passed yet.
Early in the morning, Su Ci got up to accompany little Su Ning.
Ever since she said she would not dislike him for being troublesome, little Su Ning had grown much closer to her and no longer showed that timid, frightened expression he once had.
Children were truly pure.
After lunch, when Su Ci saw that little Su Ning had fallen asleep, she also felt sleepy. She planned to return to her room for a nap and continue playing with him once he woke up.
The afternoon sun grew stronger and stronger, and the trees in the yard were roasted until their leaves drooped.
Su Ci suddenly jolted awake, her heart filled with panic.
She sat up, thought of little Su Ning, quickly put on her slippers, and ran to his room.
Between her room and little Su Ning’s room were the study and a guest room.
She opened the door and saw that the little blue bed was empty.
“Where is my brother?” Su Ci grabbed a servant passing by.
“Miss Qin came to take the young master out to play.” The servant quickly replied.
Su Ci’s brows tightened, and she questioned sharply, “Qin Shiyan? Why didn’t anyone come tell me? Why did you let my brother go with her? Why didn’t you stop them?”
Everyone in the Su household knew that Su Ci had lost her memory and forgotten the past. The servant hurried to explain, “Miss, in the past, you agreed that Miss Qin could help take young master out to play. The young master has the driver, the maternity nanny, and the bodyguard with him. You once said that if Miss Qin takes young master out, there is no need to report to you again.”
In the past, Su Ci had no patience to play with little Su Ning and always pushed him to Qin Shiyan.
Su Ci froze. “Where did Qin Shiyan take my brother?”
“Miss Qin didn’t say. She only said she’d bring the young master back before four in the afternoon.” The servant replied.
Su Ci’s brows tightened even more. “Where are my parents?”
“Sir went to the company, and Madam went out for an errand.” As soon as the servant finished speaking, she saw her young miss rush downstairs.
In the car, Su Ci got Qin Shiyan’s contact information from Mother Su, but Qin Shiyan’s phone was never answered.
Su Ci hung up the call and finally phoned the maternity nanny who took care of her brother. That was when she learned that Qin Shiyan had taken her brother to the swimming pool!
Su Ci was furious. She had guarded against everything and everyone, but she never expected that in just a short period of time Qin Shiyan would mess things up, actually taking little Su Ning to the swimming pool.
There was no need to think any further — little Su Ning had drowned in the pool.
Su Ci gave the address and told the driver to go immediately.
Ever since learning Su Ci had returned to the Su family, Qin Shiyan had felt uneasy. Vaguely, she sensed she would lose the Su family as her backing, and she urgently wanted to do something.
Father Su and Mother Su favored Su Ci. Su Zhiyuan ignored her completely; no matter how many flirtatious glances she threw, it was like throwing them to a blind man.
The only one in the Su family who liked her was little Su Ning.
Su Ning liked her more than he liked his own real sister, Su Ci.
