The girl was bad and impossible to deal with.
Lu Zhe’s brows were tightly furrowed, his thin lips pressed together. He wanted to scold her, tell her to stop messing around.
Below him, Su Ci’s bright eyes looked up at the boy who had been driven half-crazy by her. She initiatively wrapped her arms around his neck, shamelessly pulling him down, accusing him, “Don’t be fierce at me. I told you to kiss me, and you’re still not kissing properly.”
The girl lying beneath him was soft all over. Lu Zhe held himself up on both sides, afraid of pressing her. Suddenly pulled down by her, he fell onto her without any chance to react.
Lu Zhe sank into a softness.
His whole body tensed. He gritted his teeth hard and lowered his voice to reprimand, “Let go!”
When had Su Ci ever obediently listened to him?
Her brows curved, mischievous to the extreme. “Lu Zhe, you’re so heavy. You’re pressing me so hard I can barely breathe.”
Lu Zhe: …
How could there be a girl with so much bad water bottled up inside her?
She made his teeth itch with anger, yet he was helpless.
Lu Zhe let out a sigh.
He lowered his head to her ear, his low voice carrying a hint of coaxing. “Stop messing around.”
Then, in the quiet night, his cool thin lips brushed lightly against her soft lips.
He knew this little bunny liked being stroked the right way.
With just a gentle touch, the girl immediately quieted down.
“Sleep. I have a match tomorrow.” Lu Zhe’s cool voice sounded even lower in the quiet room.
Su Ci blinked.
The touch on her lips was cold. This wasn’t the first time Lu Zhe had kissed her, but it felt a little different. Her heart in her chest felt as if someone had tapped it lightly with a fingertip.
A little numb, a little tingly, and very pleasant.
Su Ci was greedy; she tightened her slender arms around Lu Zhe’s neck. “Lu Zhe, kiss me one more time and I’ll let go.” One more kiss, and tomorrow she’d be able to stay in human form the whole day.
Lu Zhe looked at her, lowered his head, and kissed those overly soft lips again.
Her sweet scent filled the air between them, and the darkness in Lu Zhe’s eyes grew deeper.
After being tormented by Su Ci like this, once things quieted down, the twitching of Lu Zhe’s muscles finally stopped. He looked at the moonlight filtering through the window, slightly regretting having indulged the girl just now.
She was too clever, testing his limits again and again, forcing him back step by step.
Lu Zhe’s cold face showed no expression. He gently moved away the arm she had wrapped around his waist.
Turning to the side, he faced away from the girl and closed his eyes to sleep.

In the morning, the entire city was bathed in golden sunlight.
Lu Zhe was awakened by something nudging him.
He opened his eyes and looked down, only to see the girl’s head burrowed into his arms, her fair face resting against his chest, unconsciously nuzzling.
His gaze darkened, and Lu Zhe reached out to push her away.
The air conditioner was on in the room, the temperature a little cold. He got up and pulled the fallen blanket back over, lightly covering Su Ci’s body.
When the doorbell rang, Lu Zhe had just finished washing up.
He opened the door, and standing outside was Zhao Youyou.
“Brother, morning. Are you ready? I came to get you so we can go down for breakfast together. Teacher Huang said we’re meeting in the lobby at nine to leave as a group.” Zhao Youyou’s spirits were very good today. She had deliberately worn a pale yellow dress.
Ever since she won five million in the lottery, her family’s financial situation had completely changed. All her old clothes had long been thrown out, and Mother Zhao had accompanied her to buy a completely new wardrobe.
This dress she was wearing now was new too, making her look even fairer and more delicate. Zhao Youyou really liked her outfit today.
She urged Lu Zhe, “Brother, the other two team members already went down for breakfast. Let’s hurry too.”
“I’m not going. You go by yourself.” Lu Zhe rejected her directly.
He had just washed his face; beads of water clung to his deep brow bone and slid down along his hard, cold side profile, disappearing into his collar. It carried an indescribable sensuality.
Zhao Youyou stared, stunned for a moment.
In her previous life, Zhao Youyou never understood why so many girls at school liked the fallen, cold, wooden Lu Zhe. Now that she had been reborn, she understood. If Lu Zhe weren’t terminally ill and an orphan, he truly was excellent.
“Too noisy.”
A girl’s sleepy, irritated scolding suddenly sounded from inside the room, completely interrupting Zhao Youyou’s thoughts.
Zhao Youyou froze, her face full of shock.
There was a woman in Lu Zhe’s room?
She looked inside in disbelief, finally noticing someone lying on Lu Zhe’s bed. The person faced away from her, covered by a blanket. From beneath the blanket, she saw one of the woman’s feet sticking out.
Small and fair like snow, the slender ankle wrapped with a red string.
Just one glance was enough to stir countless thoughts.
Not only was there a woman in Lu Zhe’s room, the two of them had even slept together last night?
Zhao Youyou’s mind buzzed, as if struck by something heavy. For a moment, she couldn’t think at all.
She thought of the Lu Zhe who saved her in her previous life, then looked at the cold Lu Zhe in front of her now, with a woman lying in his room. Zhao Youyou felt a sourness in her chest, like someone had taken away a toy that belonged exclusively to her.
She clearly didn’t want it, yet now that someone else had taken it, she suddenly couldn’t bear it.
Zhao Youyou’s eyes reddened slightly. Feeling embarrassed, she glanced at Lu Zhe. “I’ll go down first.”
After speaking, she almost ran away, her pale yellow skirt disappearing around the hallway corner.
Lu Zhe closed the door. Turning around, he saw Su Ci sitting up in bed, the white blanket wrapped around her. Her fair little face was full of sleepiness.
“Zhao Youyou came to ask you to have breakfast?” Su Ci looked at Lu Zhe with a small, aggrieved expression.
Fearing the girl would blurt out something outrageous, Lu Zhe told her directly, “I rejected her.”
Su Ci had of course heard him reject Zhao Youyou. Otherwise, she would have shown herself long ago.
Su Ci lay down and scooted toward the foot of the bed, watching the boy lower his head to check the documents and stationery in his backpack.
She propped her hands against the sides of her face, her black eyes filled with laughter. “I’m not going to tell you ‘good luck’ for the competition. Anyway, you’ll definitely get first place.”
Lu Zhe turned his head to look at her. “Why are you so sure I’ll get first? What if I don’t?”
Su Ci glanced at him, speaking as if it were only natural. “First place is yours.”
She sat up, and the jade-colored little gourd on her ankle swayed with her movement.
Her eyes shone as she looked at Lu Zhe. “How about we make a bet? If you get first place, you kiss me five times. If you don’t get first place, then you kiss me ten times.”
Lu Zhe didn’t respond. He picked up his backpack and walked out.
This was a proposition he had to accept, not a multiple-choice question.

After Lu Zhe left, Su Ci went back to sleep. By the time she got up again, it was already noon.
Seeing the lunch the hotel staff delivered, Su Ci realized Lu Zhe had already ordered it for her.
Tsk, the little poor thing was really attentive.
Su Ci remembered the matter about the agent from yesterday. She took out the card he gave her and called.
She didn’t know if anyone would pick up.
But the phone rang only twice before it was quickly answered.
It seemed the other party wasn’t dead.
Su Ci was a little pleased. She closed her eyes and found she had received a golden cotton candy—probably from that agent.
Previously, Lu Zhe had eaten two golden cotton candies: one for her saving Li Ran, and one for the little boy in the mall.
During this time she had been observing. Before, when Lu Zhe walked, one leg was slightly limp. It wasn’t obvious when he walked slowly, but once he sped up, the problem could be seen. And in the past two days, Su Ci noticed his leg seemed a little better—at least she hadn’t seen him stumble.
Su Ci was curious how many golden cotton candies Lu Zhe would need to fully recover.
On the other end of the phone, the agent sounded a bit impatient. “Who is it?”
Su Ci replied unhurriedly, “Mr. Xu, you gave me your card yesterday.”
Hearing her voice, the agent, Xu Duo, immediately reacted. “It’s you.” His tone carried a bit of joy. He had finally waited for this girl to call.
“You’re interested in signing with our company?” Xu Duo asked.
“I want to know about the advertisement you mentioned. What kind of advertisement is it, and what is the payment? I haven’t decided about signing with the company yet.” She needed money right now, and since a chance to earn had been handed to her, she had no reason to refuse.
If any other small artist were this clueless, Xu Duo would have hung up already. But Su Ci was different. Not only were her conditions top-tier, she also brought him luck.
Xu Duo strongly believed in feng shui and fate.
Last night, his friend had asked him out for drinks, but he refused—and the reason was Su Ci.
Before, he had been drinking every day because work had gone wrong, and his rival had even taken the chance to step on him. But after meeting Su Ci, Xu Duo knew his chance to turn things around had come. How could he still want to drown himself in alcohol?
So he had refused his friend’s invitation last night.
It wasn’t until this morning that he received a call: his friend, drunk driving the previous night, had gotten into a serious car accident. One leg was shattered and might be permanently lame, three ribs were broken, and his head had suffered severe trauma. After a whole night, the doctors finally pulled him back from the brink of death.
While grieving for his friend, Xu Duo also felt a wave of fear wash over him, cold sweat breaking out all over his body.
If he had gone out drinking last night, he would definitely have been in that car. He might have died in the crash.
It sounded ridiculous, but somehow he felt that because of this young girl, he had escaped death.
Thinking this, Xu Duo’s attitude toward Su Ci softened even more. “It’s a beverage commercial. The client wants a pretty new face. Do you have time to come for the audition tomorrow?”
Su Ci didn’t notice that the agent’s attitude toward her had changed. “Send me the audition address.”
How could Xu Duo possibly refuse?

The day after the competition ended, Lu Zhe didn’t leave with the team but asked to stay for two more days.
Zhao Youyou believed that Lu Zhe staying behind must be because of the person in his room. She felt uncomfortable. She wanted to know what the woman in Lu Zhe’s room looked like—who she was exactly.
In her previous life, before his death, he had always been alone, never having much interaction with any woman.
When Lu Zhe returned to the hotel, Su Ci had already changed her clothes.
She wanted Lu Zhe to accompany her to the audition.
When they arrived, Xu Duo was already waiting at the entrance.
Su Ci noticed that this agent really liked wearing green. Yesterday he wore dark green; today he was in a mint green suit, even his socks were mint green. He was just short of wearing a green hat.
