Walking out of the hotel, Su Ci planned to stroll around on her own.
She found the surroundings very familiar. The environment described in the book should have been written by the author based on real life, so many famous landmark buildings existed here, and their locations were the same as in her original world.
This world wouldn’t feel overly unfamiliar to her.
The afternoon sun was scorching. After walking for a while, Su Ci was both thirsty and tired. She pushed open the door of a nearby beverage shop and walked inside.
Her slender figure had already disappeared. He Ermeng stood on the street, looking at the pedestrians coming and going. He kicked the tree trunk beside him hard, his eyes dark and gloomy.
At that moment, his phone rang.
“Shen Jun said you saw Xiao Ci?” On the other end of the line, the man’s voice was low.
He Ermeng was panting, his breathing a little unsteady. “Yuan-ge, this time I wasn’t seeing things, and I didn’t mistake someone else. The person I saw was definitely Su Ci.”
He Ermeng’s tone was firm. “Su Ci didn’t die.”
On the other end of the phone, Su Zhiyuan was silent for a moment. “Where is she?”
He Ermeng wiped the sweat from his face. When had the little tyrant ever been this disheveled? His voice lowered. “When I chased after her, she was gone.”
Su Zhiyuan said in a deep voice, “I’ll have someone check the nearby surveillance.”
Summer was hot, and the beverage shop was doing booming business.
Su Ci stood in line. The two boys in front of her kept turning around to secretly look at her. When their eyes met, one of them — a handsome, clean-cut boy — instantly blushed. He wanted to talk to her, but was extremely shy.
Tsk, this was the normal reaction boys should have when they saw her.
Unlike Lu Zhe—her unparalleled beauty flashed in front of him all day long, and he remained unmoved.
“Do you want to go ahead?” The boy in front finally gathered his courage and spoke to Su Ci, trying to let her cut the line.
Su Ci glanced at his flushed face and rejected him directly. “No, thank you.”
The clean-cut boy withdrew his gaze in disappointment.
Su Ci didn’t care at all. At that moment, someone patted her back.
Behind her, a man dressed entirely in green held out a business card to her. “Hello, I’m an agent from Chuangshen Company. May I ask if you’re interested in filming an advertisement?”
The man in green removed his sunglasses, looking her over with satisfaction.
The entertainment industry didn’t lack beautiful actresses, but someone this stunning, someone who made it impossible to look away at first glance—there truly wasn’t another like her. With this appearance, if she really entered the industry, wherever she stood, others would only become background props.
Having discovered such a good seedling, the man in green was a little excited. “You’ve heard of Chuangshen Company, right? Xie Yinan and Zheng Hao, those two award-winning superstars, both came from our company.”
Su Ci looked at the faint excitement on his face and said slowly, “I don’t know it, never heard of it.”
The book mainly focused on Zhao Youyou and Fu Baili’s love-to-the-death storyline. It didn’t describe anything related to the entertainment industry.
And she couldn’t yet determine whether the man in front of her was a scammer.
After all, some scammers pretended to be agents, using the excuse of recruiting models for advertisements or magazine shoots to target young girls passing by on the street.
They would trick the girl into a so-called advertising company, then have her shoot a “model card,” and afterward ask the girl to pay an expensive fee to buy the model card — claiming that only with the card would she be able to easily receive future advertisements and shooting jobs.
These were things she had heard her assistant mention in casual conversations before. The assistant had also told her that many girls fell for such tricks and were cheated out of a lot of money.
Whether the man in front of her was a scammer or not was still hard to determine.
“You’ve never heard of Xie Yinan?” The man in green looked utterly shocked.
“No.” Su Ci’s gaze fell on the hand holding out the card. On the inside of his wrist, his life value was a red line, with a note beside it: 9 hours.
Tsk, another short-lived one.
Su Ci called out to Fugui. “How does this person die?”
Fugui: 【Killed in a drunk-driving incident.】
Su Ci took a few more looks at the man in front of her. Drunk driving?
She really disliked people who drank and then drove. That was being irresponsible with both their own life and others’.
The man in green had never expected to meet a young person who didn’t know Xie Yinan. After all, Xie Yinan was practically about to become a universe-level superstar.
“It’s fine if you don’t know him. As long as you know our company is very capable. If you enter the entertainment industry, we can definitely make you famous.”
Su Ci had always had an accurate sense of self. Even without this man’s praise, she knew that if she entered the entertainment industry, she would definitely become popular.
“Well? Are you interested?” The man in green looked at Su Ci with eager eyes.
The artist he previously managed became famous and then terminated their contract with the company, which caused the company to hold a grudge against him. Meanwhile, his sworn rival had recently taken on a newcomer, and that newcomer became explosively popular. His rival seized the chance to kick him while he was down.
If he could sign the girl in front of him, he would absolutely be able to make a comeback.
Su Ci was very poor right now. She knew she would return to the entertainment circle eventually; after all, that was where she could make money and it was the job she was most familiar with.
If this man really was an agent, then this counted as an opportunity handed right to her.
Taking the man’s business card, Su Ci’s red lips curved upward. “I’m interested in entering the entertainment industry, but I need to confirm whether you’re a scammer. Also, if you want to become my agent, then you can’t get drunk.”
Hearing this requirement, the man in green was stunned.
Su Ci didn’t care what he was thinking. She accepted the card. “I’ll contact you. I hope your phone will connect.”
Don’t die from drunk driving.
The man in green quickly said, “Don’t worry, my phone is on twenty-four hours a day.”
Su Ci gave him a glance and didn’t say anything more.

After Lu Zhe and the other contestants finished inspecting the competition venue, Teacher Huang brought them back to the hotel.
Zhao Youyou called out to Lu Zhe. “Ge, this is my first time in B City. The competition doesn’t start until tomorrow, why don’t you go out with me and look around for a bit?”
Zhao Youyou wanted to take a walk, but here she only knew Lu Zhe.
“I did my research before coming. I know where all the good food is. Ge, let’s go together.” Zhao Youyou suggested.
Lu Zhe refused coldly. “Not going.”
Watching Lu Zhe’s tall figure disappear into the elevator, Zhao Youyou’s eyes flashed with grievance. She remembered that in her previous life, although Lu Zhe had also been cold to her, he had never been this resolute.
Suddenly, Zhao Youyou thought of something. In this lifetime, she had won the lottery, and because of that, her parents had made Lu Zhe move out of their home completely. It was probably this matter that had made Lu Zhe distance himself from her.
Obviously, this had been her original intention, yet now that she saw Lu Zhe ignoring her, Zhao Youyou still felt uncomfortable.
She walked toward the hotel entrance in disappointment.
Just then, a beautiful girl walked in from the outside.
The girl wore a light smoky-purple dress, her skin fair and delicate. In the scorching summer heat, she looked like a violet blooming quietly on a branch—so exquisite and lovely it made others feel inferior.
After her rebirth, Zhao Youyou had been called the school beauty at school.
With her heavy makeup removed, her features were clean and fresh, her figure slender, her skin fair—prettier by a few degrees than the former school beauty, Jiang Mengqi.
So, in terms of appearance, Zhao Youyou had always been confident.
But now, looking at the girl walking into the hotel, Zhao Youyou felt stunned—and for the first time, realized someone could be this perfectly beautiful.
As the beautiful girl passed by her, Zhao Youyou couldn’t help turning back to glance at her retreating figure.
She knew that girls like this were mostly raised in wealthy families, pampered and polished using money—completely different from someone like her, who had been born naturally this good-looking.
Su Ci had noticed Zhao Youyou long ago. She cast her a light, sideways glance as she walked past.
She had never paid attention before, but just now, in that fleeting look, Su Ci saw that on the wrist holding Zhao Youyou’s shoulder bag, her life value was actually green!
This was the first time she had ever seen someone with a green life value.
A full green life value meant Zhao Youyou could easily live past a hundred years. Was this the halo of the female lead? Even her lifespan was longer than everyone else’s?
Su Ci felt sour. She also wanted a green life value. She also wanted to live past a hundred.
Inside the hotel room.
When Lu Zhe returned, he didn’t see Su Ci in the room. Thinking of how she had looked at him with pure innocence earlier, saying she would obediently stay in the room and wait for him to come back, Lu Zhe’s lips lifted slightly.
Such a little liar who lied without blinking.
When the little liar herself came back later, she saw Lu Zhe sitting by the coffee table preparing to eat dinner, and she immediately felt a wave of delight.
“You’re back.” She walked over and sat on the other side, taking the initiative to lodge a complaint first. “I waited for you for a long time. I got so bored waiting that I went out for a walk.”
Lu Zhe cast her a quiet glance. Maybe from all the walking, her fair face was tinged with a rosy flush—bright and beautiful. “Go wash your hands and eat.”
Looking at the dishes on the table, many of which suited her taste, Su Ci smiled brightly. She picked up one of the wet wipes delivered by the hotel and stuffed it into Lu Zhe’s hand. “My legs are sore. I don’t want to walk anymore. Just use the wet wipe to clean your hands.”
She then stretched both of her hands toward him, blinking her clear eyes. She told a blatant lie with a straight face. “Lu Zhe, help me wipe them. Both my hands are covered in dust. They’re really dirty.”
Lu Zhe lowered his gaze.
Her hands were fair and slender; under the light, her fingertips even had a faint pink glow. Where was there any dust like she claimed?
Lu Zhe reached out his cold, large hand, easily pushing her two small hands together and sending them back to her, stuffing the wet wipe into her hand as well. His voice was cool. “Wipe them yourself.”
Su Ci was stunned.
This man truly had no heart!
And no lust!
At night, the entire city sank into darkness.
Su Ci came out after taking a shower. Wearing the hotel’s white disposable slippers, she walked to the bedside and watched the boy arranging the blankets.
Lu Zhe had actually asked the hotel staff for an extra blanket. He folded it into a long strip and placed it in the middle of the bed.
Su Ci finally realized that this poor little thing had a very conservative heart. “I’m not even worried about you doing anything to me. Why are you putting a blanket in the middle?”
Finishing the “bed boundary,” Lu Zhe replied, “I’m afraid you’ll roll over in the middle of the night.”
Su Ci: …
Heh. She was offended.
When Lu Zhe came out after his shower, he saw Su Ci already lying on the bed with her eyes tightly closed, seemingly asleep. The blanket he had carefully arranged had been immaturely kicked aside by the girl, leaving him only a narrow strip of space.
He gave a helpless smile and turned off the lights.
Lu Zhe lay down in the tiny spot she had left him.
After getting used to sleeping on a folding cot these days, such a small space was no problem for him.
He closed his eyes.
The muscles in his hand began twitching. Lu Zhe had gotten used to this painful spasm, but to his surprise, the twitching this past week had been less frequent than before.
The night was deep.
At his nose lingered the warm, faint scent of a young girl. Lu Zhe kept his eyes closed, waiting for the twitching to stop.
At that moment, the sound of fabric shifting came from beside him.
In the next second, a soft, plush weight leaned into him—Su Ci suddenly burrowed straight into his arms.
“Su Ci!”
“Here I am.” Su Ci kicked away the bothersome dividing blanket, sending it tumbling to the floor. She hugged Lu Zhe, her voice laced with a smile. “Lu Zhe, you forgot to kiss me. You only kissed me once today. By noon tomorrow I’m turning back into a rabbit.”
Her body was soft and pliant, like she had no bones as she leaned against him. Lu Zhe’s jaw went tense. “Go back to your side. I’ll kiss you tomorrow.”
Su Ci protested, “Why wait until tomorrow? You’re going to compete tomorrow.”
Lu Zhe’s muscles twitched again, and the girl in his arms was incredibly restless, slipping around like a little fish. His whole body went rigid. Then he lowered his head and blindly kissed her in the darkness.
“Lu Zhe, you kissed the wrong place. You kissed my eye.”
Lu Zhe’s thin lips pressed tightly together. He repeated the kiss, but the girl happened to turn her head away.
Su Ci was being utterly wicked. She accused him, “You kissed the wrong place again. That was my neck.”
Lu Zhe clenched his teeth. He felt the girl in his arms was worse than a little demon.
In the dimness, Su Ci’s eyes curved with mischief. “Forget it. I’ll kiss you instead.”
She lifted her chin, and her red lips accurately landed on the boy’s cool lips.
Rabbits had good night vision, and now that she’d turned back into a person, Su Ci felt that even in the dark she could clearly see Lu Zhe’s stunned expression.
She felt a little triumphant.
The corners of her eyes lifted, the small tear mole alluring and seductive. Su Ci parted her teeth slightly and gently bit his lips, then wickedly brushed them with the sharp tips of her teeth.
Hiss!
Lu Zhe didn’t know whether it was the muscles all over his body twitching, or his heart jerking violently.
He suddenly rolled over, pinning the girl beneath him.
For the first time, his cold voice carried a gritted-teeth edge. “Tuan Tuan!”
