Su Ci had imagined countless times the scene of turning back into a human in front of Lu Zhe, but she had never thought it would be… on the bed!
And in such a completely unexpected way!
Most importantly, when she turned back into a human her whole body would be naked, so… so did Lu Zhe… see everything?
Taking a look at the boy in front of her, brows furrowed and those pitch-black eyes staring at her, Su Ci hurriedly tugged at the bedsheet that was about to slip off her body.
She had lost all her dignity!
Su Ci asked Fugui, “Why did I suddenly turn into a human? Did I kiss Lu Zhe in my sleep?”
Fugui: 【He kissed you.】
Su Ci looked at Lu Zhe in disbelief. He kissed her?
Why did it have to be when she was asleep!
Lu Zhe used the pad of his finger to wipe the spot Su Ci had just kissed, his brows tightly knitted, “Who are you? Why are you in my room?”
Su Ci stared blankly at Lu Zhe’s lip-wiping motion, her face full of shock, “He’s disgusted because I kissed him?”
With how she looked right now, let alone a man— even she would want to kiss herself. And yet Lu Zhe actually disliked being kissed by her?
That stung!!!
Fugui trembled: 【Maybe his mouth felt itchy and he just wiped it.】
Su Ci let out a cold snort at it.
The next second, her pair of dark, moist eyes looked at Lu Zhe pitifully, her voice soft and gentle, “I’m your rabbit. When you kissed me, I was able to turn into a human.”
“Thank you.” Su Ci’s face was pure and innocent.
Lu Zhe’s brows tightened even more. “Rabbit?”
His gaze fell again on the girl’s ankle exposed outside the sheet. She was indeed wearing the red string he had tied onto the little rabbit. And his rabbit was missing.
Su Ci nodded, “You gave me a name — Tuan Tuan.”
He had only told Little Kuaile the rabbit’s name. No one else knew.
Even though this matter was extremely absurd and unbelievable, Lu Zhe had no choice but to believe that the girl in front of him was the rabbit he had raised.
Afraid that Lu Zhe would think she was some kind of yao or demonic rabbit spirit, Su Ci told him she wasn’t truly a rabbit, but a human — she just didn’t know why she had turned into a rabbit, and then he picked her up.
Lu Zhe looked at her. “Where is your home?”
Su Ci hadn’t expected she would dig a pit for herself. She pressed her lips together, lowered her eyes, and spoke in a soft, slightly pitiful voice, “I don’t know. I only remember that I don’t belong here. My name is Su Ci.”
Lu Zhe pinched the space between his eyebrows. Something like this happening in the middle of the night had thrown his thoughts into chaos. “Since you’ve turned into a human, you can leave tomorrow.”
Lu Zhe wanted to drive her away?
How could she possibly leave? She probably wouldn’t even make it past the door before turning back into a rabbit tomorrow!
Su Ci looked at Lu Zhe pitifully and explained, “Lu Zhe, I can’t leave. I can only maintain my human form for a few hours, and I need to kiss you to keep it. I don’t know why. Anyway, if I leave you, I’ll turn back into a rabbit very soon.”
“And when I kiss you, I can help you… help you…”
Su Ci realized that no matter how hard she tried, the words she wanted to say just wouldn’t come out. “Fugui, what’s going on?”
Fugui: 【Master, you must not tell anyone that you can see life values, and you must not say that kissing Lu Zhe can restore his lifespan. This concerns the heavenly secrets.】
Being able to see through someone’s lifespan was an act that defied the laws of heaven.
Su Ci went quiet for a moment, then said to Lu Zhe, “A cute rabbit like me would get caught by someone.”
Su Ci used one hand to hold the sheet over her body while the other tugged at the hem of Lu Zhe’s clothes.
Her slender fingertips looked pale and pink under the light, fragile and tender. “I might even get eaten. You raised me for so many days, could you really bear to let someone eat me?”
As she spoke, she mimicked what the rabbit used to do, nudging her head against the palm of his hand hanging at the side.
Receiving no response, Su Ci secretly gritted her teeth. She lifted her beautiful fingers and began counting, “Also, I can wash your clothes.”
“I can cook for you.”
“I can clean the house.”
After counting all of it, Su Ci beamed at Lu Zhe. “I’m very useful.” Thinking that Lu Zhe had no money and might not be able to support her, she added sweetly, “I can earn my own money too. I won’t be a burden to you.”
Lu Zhe lowered his eyes to look at her fingers tugging his clothes—tender, with a pale pink at the tips. He remembered that when she was a rabbit, her paws were also pink and white.
His tone was light. “There’s only one room here. I don’t have a place for you to stay.”
“It’s fine, I can live in the storage room.” She knew there was a tiny storage room beside the living room.
Lu Zhe looked at her, then pulled his clothes out of her hand and picked up his pillow. “It’s very late now. I’ll sleep outside.”
The door closed.
Su Ci blinked. “Fugui, does this mean he agreed to let me stay here?”
Fugui: 【Master is so beautiful and good at everything; he definitely agreed to let you stay.】
Fugui had no principles and gave a full rainbow-flavored compliment first.
Su Ci nodded in satisfaction. “But everything I said earlier was a lie. I can’t wash clothes.”
From childhood to now, she always had servants handling her clothes. Even after her family went bankrupt and she entered the entertainment industry, the company hired a personal assistant for her.
“I can’t cook.” She only liked eating and had never entered a kitchen.
“I can’t clean either.” She had never touched a broom, let alone a rag.
Fugui clutched its conscience: 【Master, you’re the most beautiful woman in the world; you don’t need to learn these things.】
Fugui suddenly realized: although its current master looked like a sweet white milk candy on the outside, in reality… she was a black, savory sesame ball.

The next morning, the door was knocked on.
This time Su Ci wasn’t in a deep sleep. She still remembered that her identity had been exposed, so even if she was sleepy, she still got up to open the door.
“Morning.” Su Ci smiled brightly as she greeted Lu Zhe.
The girl was wearing a black T-shirt, the hem hanging low enough to cover her thighs, and below it were two long, fair, straight legs—bright and enticing.
Lu Zhe glanced at her and finally understood the reason his school uniform had been found dirty in the closet earlier. She must have put it on and rubbed against it.
“I’m getting my clothes.” Lu Zhe walked inside.
Su Ci hurriedly stepped aside, knowing he was going to change into his school uniform.
Su Ci didn’t know whether Lu Zhe would chase her out or not. For now, she could only pretend to be an obedient, pitiful little thing. “You’re going to school? Be safe on the way. I’ll wait here like a good girl for you to come back.”
Lu Zhe took his uniform from the wardrobe. When he turned around, he saw Su Ci standing by the door. Because she had no shoes, her bare feet were pressed helplessly against the floor. She wasn’t sure if the ground was cold, but her toes curled slightly.
Lu Zhe withdrew his gaze and said in a cold voice, “I’ll come back at noon and take you to buy clothes.” She couldn’t keep wearing his clothes forever.
Hearing this, Su Ci’s eyes lit up. “And underwear.” With no bra or underwear on, she felt extremely insecure.
Lu Zhe glanced at her. “Mm.”
He stepped out, changed into his uniform, and then left.
After spending time with Lu Zhe, Su Ci knew he was someone hard to approach. As long as he wasn’t driving her away right now, she had plenty of chances to slowly get closer to him.
Su Ci hummed a tune—one she couldn’t even name—as she returned to the bed to catch up on sleep.

Early in the morning, students arrived one after another through the school gates.
A luxury car pulled up at the entrance, instantly drawing everyone’s attention. Many recognized it—this was the same car that had come yesterday to pick up the transfer student Fu Baili.
Sure enough, the next second, the car door opened and Fu Baili stepped out.
He wasn’t wearing a school uniform but a cool all-black casual outfit. His handsomeness made the people around him want to scream.
Fu Baili ignored everyone. With a cold, aloof air, he strode into the school.
“Ah, that’s the transfer student from the next class? He’s so handsome. No wonder the forum was filled with posts about him yesterday.” A short-haired girl said to Jiang Mengqi, the campus beauty beside her.
Jiang Mengqi slowly snapped out of her daze. Her chin lifted slightly, her gaze arrogant. “Fu Baili is the sole heir of the Fu family in S City.” She had thought the name sounded familiar yesterday and had gone home to ask her father. She hadn’t expected he was truly the Fu family’s heir.
Her family was considered wealthy, but compared to the Fu family, they were worlds apart.
“Fu family?” The short-haired girl looked confused.
“You don’t need to know. That’s not a circle you can reach.” Jiang Mengqi’s tone was full of pride.
The short-haired girl nodded. “Ah, Mengqi, that’s Lu Zhe.” As Jiang Mengqi’s follower, she naturally knew the girl had once liked Lu Zhe.
Lu Zhe had good looks and excellent grades. He used to be the school’s golden boy.
But after his younger sister Zhao Youyou exposed his background on the forum, along with the reveal that he had a terminal illness—the once-favored genius had fallen from the pedestal.
Now, no one paid attention to Lu Zhe anymore.
Jiang Mengqi looked over. It really was Lu Zhe.
He wore his school uniform, his waist straight, his expression cold and rigid. If she once thought he was handsome, now she only found him unlucky to look at.
She withdrew her gaze. “What’s so interesting? Don’t mention him in front of me.”
Lu Zhe entered the classroom. As soon as he sat down, Li Dongliang—who had been greeting Fu Baili a moment ago—immediately ran over. “Zhe-ge, you’re here.”
“Hurry, hurry, let Little Rabbit out. I brought a turtle today. I want my turtle to race your rabbit.” Li Dongliang liked fluffy little pets, but since he couldn’t keep any, he settled for raising a turtle.
He took his little wangbadan (Turtle Egg) out of a transparent container.
Lu Zhe gave him a faint glance. “I didn’t bring the rabbit.”
Thinking of the “rabbit” at home, then looking at the turtle in front of him, Lu Zhe curved his lips slightly. “Even if I did bring it, my rabbit wouldn’t race your turtle.”
Hearing that Lu Zhe hadn’t brought the rabbit, Li Dongliang let out a wail and demanded, “How could you not bring it? Don’t you get lonely in class without petting the rabbit? Don’t your hands feel itchy?”
“No.”
Li Dongliang deflated. He put the turtle back into the box in disgust. Without seeing the little rabbit, his whole day was ruined.
There were four morning classes. The last one was supposed to be math, but the math teacher had something to do, so that class was swapped with the afternoon self-study period.
During the self-study session, many students were consciously doing practice questions. With the college entrance exam approaching, they had no choice but to feel the pressure.
But the atmosphere in the last row was completely different.
Lu Zhe solved problems quickly and accurately. He had long finished the entire test paper and was reading another book. Meanwhile, Li Dongliang had dragged his chair over to sit beside Fu Baili, the two of them playing games.
The elders of Li Dongliang’s family had collaborated with the Fu family a few times, so Li Dongliang and Fu Baili could be considered acquaintances.
If Su Ci were here, she’d definitely complain that Li Dongliang was one of the male lead Fu Baili’s three sidekicks.
“Li-ge, why did you come to D City? And even transfer to No. 1 High?” Li Dongliang was only playing games to accompany him. In his opinion, gaming wasn’t nearly as fun as petting rabbits.
Fu Baili leaned casually against the chair, his fingers moving quickly. “Grandma’s in poor health. I came back with her so she can relax a bit. It doesn’t matter where I attend school.”
Li Dongliang nodded in agreement. For students like them, changing schools was just changing where they slept and played games.
He glanced sideways at Lu Zhe. People like them didn’t need to study as seriously as Lu Zhe did.
Still, being able to consistently score first in the grade and pull more than twenty points ahead of the second place was truly impressive. As a poor student, he genuinely admired Lu Zhe.
The class bell rang.
Lu Zhe shoved the book in his hand into his backpack and stood up to leave.
“Zhe-ge, you going home for lunch?” Li Dongliang asked as Lu Zhe walked past.
“Mm.”
“Remember to bring the rabbit this afternoon. I even bought it a pretty pink bow. It’ll definitely look good on it.” Li Dongliang flattered eagerly.
“I’m not bringing it.” Lu Zhe walked out.
Li Dongliang’s face collapsed. He had no mood to play games anymore. Seeing Fu Baili’s puzzled look, he immediately shared, “Lu Zhe is raising a super super cute little white rabbit.”
Fu Baili lowered his head and continued playing the game, clearly uninterested.
When Lu Zhe returned to his place, it was exactly noon.
The moment he opened the door, the girl rushed up to him. “You’re back?”
Su Ci was still wearing his oversized black T-shirt on top, and on the bottom she had barely managed to put on a pair of long pants. The cuffs were rolled up several times, just barely revealing her slender ankles.
Lu Zhe placed a pair of white cloth shoes in front of her—he had bought them on the way back. “I don’t know your size. Try these first. If they don’t fit, we’ll buy another pair later.”
“Thank you.” Su Ci naturally wouldn’t refuse.
She picked up the shoes and walked over to the sofa to put them on. As soon as she slipped her foot inside, she saw that the heel area had at least a two-finger gap. They were too big.
But it was still better than wearing his shoes.
“Alright, let’s go.”
Aside from that time she turned back into a human to save Little Kuaile, this was her second time going out in human form.
However, after taking just a few steps outside the residential area, Su Ci could no longer stay happy. She realized the soles of the white cloth shoes were very hard—obviously cheap shoes, with no comfort at all. Whether it was because of her rabbit state or not, even after turning into a human her feet were still overly sensitive. Wearing the shoes felt extremely uncomfortable.
Lu Zhe walked in front. He suddenly felt his clothes being tugged.
Lowering his gaze, he saw her pale pink fingertips once again wrapped around the hem of his shirt.
He turned back, and immediately met Su Ci’s dark, watery eyes.
“Lu Zhe, are we walking there?” She asked him a little embarrassedly, “How far do we have to walk? My feet hurt.”
Hearing Su Ci say her feet hurt, his brows tightened slightly. From coming downstairs to reaching the gate, they hadn’t even walked a few steps. And from here to the mall was only a little over ten minutes—hardly far. Lu Zhe hadn’t planned on taking a taxi.
Afraid he wouldn’t believe her, Su Ci easily slipped off the loose white cloth shoe, letting Lu Zhe see her foot.
Under the sunlight, the girl’s foot was white as jade—small and delicate. Because the shoe was too big, Su Ci had to shift her weight forward when walking, and the edges of her round toes had been rubbed red.
Last time she wore his shoes and went out, she’d come back with blisters, but she had turned back into a rabbit then and was carried by Lu Zhe, so she hadn’t needed to walk.
Lu Zhe had grown up roughly. Back in the orphanage, he wore his clothes and shoes until they had holes. Even after being adopted by the Zhao family, he was still raised loosely; as long as clothes and shoes were wearable, that was enough.
It was his first time realizing that there were people in this world so delicate that walking just a few steps could rub their feet red.
